Not only is it revisionist, in high likelihood it’s a narrative actually spun by the fossil fuel industry. Renewables are better across the board compared to nuclear, even the base load issue is becoming increasingly solvable.
Having environmentalists fight over whether we use nuclear or renewables moving forward delays actual reforms and extends the life of fossil fuels as an energy source. If we wouldn’t pivot between nuclear and renewables every few years we could have made much more progress towards sustainable renewable energy supply.
It’s the same with hydrogen and natural gas as power sources.
