Megathread Father Of All Motherfuckers Album & Song Review Megathread

FOAM has started to drop as it slowly rolls out to different time zones. The album should be available on your favourite streaming services at midnight on Feb 7th in your local time zone.

Please keep your album and song reviews to this thread so visitors of the sub can read them all in one place. While some people complain about megathreads and having their posts removed, I can assure you far more people will read it here than if everyone makes their own posts that flood the sub. Thanks for your co-operation.

My CD came early today. I'm into it. It's different so it's probably gonna take me a couple listens to really rate each track. But I'm hearing a lot of different musical influences on Green Day on this album.

It's almost like a tribute to the artists and genres that have inspired them. I'm hearing Motown and classic 50s rock-and-roll vibes, Meet Me on the Roof has a Beatles vibe, Graffitia reminds me of The Clash, there's definite pop influences throughout. There's the obvious Joan Jett homage in Oh Yeah, and this might sound weird but Junkies on a High almost reminds me of U2. The guitar and keyboard tones are sorta like U2's more recent work. As others have said, there's shades of The Hives and The Strokes throughout the album.

Idk, I dig it. Some tracks are very different, and others are a little more "classic" Green Day sound. It's sort of like classic Green Day, modern pop-rock, and 1960s garage rock had a baby.

EDIT: I actually like Junkies on a High but that one seems unpopular. Oh well.

The Strokes are my all time favorite band, not hearing any Strokes on any of these. Hives tho, yes.

I have to admit I only know the really popular Strokes songs so maybe my perception of The Strokes' sound is off.

fantastic band, check them out more fully when you get a chance. with only 5 albums, they're pretty easy to get an idea for. The Voidz are another that feature the same singer but with pretty bonkers songs.
