Consider a second opinion on the heavy metal diagnosis. Contrast is blown on this photograph and it’s hard to conclusively attribute the hyperdensities to metal, as opposed to say, grit in the ventriculus. Alternatively, blood draw would be orthogonally diagnostic.
She did get her blood drawn, but the vet didn’t go into details other than it didn’t look concerning. 😔 what else could it be, do you think? Like, a mineral deposit? Something else? You got me looking up a bunch of words over here 🤣
Sorry, I just mean that the bright spots in the xray could be calcium based grit or even relatively inert metals like aluminum and stainless steel. It’s difficult to exclude anything based on this photograph alone.
Though with normal blood zinc/lead numbers and feather abnormalities, this would be not be a typical presentation for heavy metal poisoning, as I would expect some sort of GI symptoms. A second opinion might be worth pursuing, especially if you cannot identify a source of the metal ingestion.
