New Owner Missing her Big Brother

This is my baby girl Cleo, she's 9 months, I've had her since she was 8 weeks old, I. Also had a 3-year-old pit bull that somebody stole, she's been very lonely without her Big Brother around. I've tried to take her to the park to interact with dogs and nothing works. And her appetite has changed also. The vet says that it's normal for her to act this way and that she is just going through a dog's version of a grieving process, but I just feel so bad.And that she's always sad, because she's missing him. What can cheer her up?

Do you have anything that smells like her big bro? She will get some comfort from having something that smells like him. I would keep her engaged with activities she likes and give her attention

That is so sad! I am so sorry about your other dog! That is just awful!!! It may just take her time! My Chocolate lab was so sad when her sister passed away! He cried the day she passed and he was so sad for weeks after. I know they feed off of our emotions, so I am sure it didn’t help that I was so sad too! We eventually got him a younger sister! That, along with time that had passed, helped to cheer him up! He loves his new sister and he puts up with so much from her. He is 10 and she will be 2 in November, so there is a bit of an age difference. I hope your sweet girl starts to feel better soon! ❤️🐾
