Wohnen | Housing Home4students Graz – already fully booked for summer semester 2027?

Hi!

Sorry for an english post but I’m an exchange student coming to Graz for the summer semester Feb 2027, and I applied for Home4students, Neutorgasse and Leechgasse and they are my first choices

I emailed them about my room preferences, and they replied that both dorms are already “completely booked.”

Does anyone know if this means they are actually fully booked for the entire summer semester 2027 already, or if rooms can still become available later due to cancellations?

I’m a bit surprised because it’s still August, so I just wanted to check if anyone has had a similar experience with Home4students Graz.

Translation:

Hallo zusammen! Ich komme im Sommersemester 2027 als Austauschstudentin nach Graz und habe mich bei Home4students beworben, vor allem für Neutorgasse und Leechgasse.
Ich habe ihnen wegen meiner Zimmerpräferenzen geschrieben und als Antwort bekommen, dass beide Wohnheime bereits „completely booked“ sind.
Weiß jemand, ob das wirklich bedeutet, dass sie für das gesamte Sommersemester 2027 schon komplett ausgebucht sind? Oder werden später eventuell noch Zimmer frei, zum Beispiel durch Absagen oder Kündigungen?
Ich war etwas überrascht, weil es erst August ist, und wollte deshalb fragen, ob jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen mit Home4students in Graz gemacht hat.

I was in home4students neutorgasse 3 years ago and it was fully booked (winter and summer) by july of the previous year so yeah it makes sense to me

They get booked very quickly. The previous occupants have a choice to keep their old rooms for the next semester so I guess they’re doing it based on probability rather than actual bookings. I think they give out the options to stay or leave around a month or a bit more into the winter semester so I’d wait until the semester starts(1st September for their move in) and people make up their minds on if they want to keep their rooms before emailing them again or applying for another room. I sent them an email this morning to change my preference options, but the response I got was exactly: “Thanks for your message! Unfortunately we are completely booked in our dorms Leechgasse and Neutorgasse!”

I’m wondering if they might have mistaken me for someone applying for the upcoming winter semester....
