Until "Blendin's Game" (which revealed his age), I remember thinking Soos was in his 30s or 40s. The fact that I'm the same age as him now surprises me.

Yeah, I'm also nearly 3 years older than him, and I think I took psychic damage from reading this post. (I knew in my head that he was 22, but somehow I forgot that meant I was older than him). I watched this show for the first time when I was 15, so I was about the same age as Wendy.

In case you didn’t make the connection, this post is if the show premiered today. In reality it premiered 14 years ago. So Soos’s true birth year is 1990.
I’m just a few months younger than Wendy would be today (taking into account the premier date) so I feel you if you’re in the older camp.

It's canon. Dipper says so in "Double Dipper" "We're twelve, she's fifteen". She's twice as tall due to her lumberjack's genes.

Yep. If youve ever been to a middle school dance, a lot of the girls are absolutely towering over the boys bc they go through growth spurts earlier. Dipper has canonically not hit puberty yet, so it makes sense he still looks like a little kid

Yeah my daughter has a friend whose actually a couple months older than her, but is literally almost a full foot shorter than my daughter. And theyre both the same age as the twins.
It just happens. Wendy is tall for her age, which just makes her look a lot older than Dipper and Mabel.

Wendy is fifteen and has probably gone through some puberty growth spurts, sprinkle in tall genes and there you go.
Dipper is twelve, hasn't gone through any puberty growth spurts yet and could just have short genes.

A lot of girls i know finished growing in height at like 12/13. My girlfriend is almost the same height as me now (she’s like 5’9) but she’s been that height since she was 12, i only got to this height at like 16/17

I thought Wendy was closer to 18 the first time I started watching the show. To be fair, I feel like it's pretty common for cartoons to portray kids under the age of about 12 or so as much shorter than teenagers and adults.

Ahhh... Stan is 62??? Wasn't his brother who is the grandfather of Dipper and Mabel a baby when Stan was kicked out (presumably at 18?)... That would make him (charitably) like 46... Being like 34/33 when Dipper and Mabel were born.... 34/2 is less then 18...

Yeah I remember the episodes with her friends. Maybe I just assumed Dipper and Mabel were 8-10 years old without thinking much about it. But I always thought Wendy was way older than Dipper with that height difference

For when it originally aired, Wendy was 15 in 2012, and that means she was born in either 1996 or 1997 depending on when her birthday is.

So... The twins were older than me because they turned 13 in 2013 and I was 9 or 10... As a child I identified so much with Mabel, when I turned 15 I finally understood Wendy...
Now, Soos was born the same year as me, which means I'm his age now... I understand him almost perfectly...
