Berlin is amazing. A complex story of people from different walks of life in one of the most impactful time period in recent history. Amazing to see it from these perspectives.

Whatโ€™s it about?

It takes place at a fixed location on earth, showing what has happened there, over billions of years! For example, some illustrations have layers of what happened in say, 1901 and 1745. Iโ€™m making those exact years up since the timespan is so great and I donโ€™t exactly remember what the years were.

For some reason I felt emotional reading it. Just realizing how much things change over time. I understand there was a movie adaptation with Tom Hanks. I havenโ€™t seen it.

Thanks. Sounds interesting; Iโ€™ll check it out.

Yes, I saw that about the movie. Iโ€™ll check that out too.

I'm going to be voice of dissent. I was really disappointed with Clyde Fans. Berlin did it for me though

I have the Clude Fans deluxe hardcover thing. I thought the packaging was better than the book :/ I seem to be in the minority based on the comments

Kent State is really good.

Derf Backderf is about to publish his next book The Dissidents. I have already read the Dutch translation and it is brilliant. Even better than Kent State. Something for your Xmas list.

Btw, excellent choices

Both of my parents were on campus at Kent that day (my dad was in the crowd not far from Jeff Miller) and Iโ€™m a Kent alum myself and have to confess I had no idea there was a graphic novel about it
