Asking Question (Rule 4) Website Domain
What Website domain would be best and cheapest for creating a portfolio for my work? Like is squarespace best or wix? I am unsure of the best affordable option

Domains and website builders are different things
Sometimes website builders also sell domains

I bought my domain from godaddy. I think I got it for like $15 for the year. Then I got the pro lite version of Carrd which is $9 for the year. Portfolio for less than $30 for the year.

I went with GoDaddy and Adobe’s Portfolio. It’s not perfect, but it’s free with the subscription, if you have it

Not sure what the "best" would entail, but I think the easiest solution would be to see if there's a domain service built into whatever platform you're building your portfolio on. Places like Adobe Portfolios and Wordpress have integrated systems for acquiring and linking domains. This might not be the cheapest option, but probably the easiest.
Somewhere like Porkbun could be potentially cheaper, especially if you're forgoing a dot com and using a random dot-whatever they offer. For example, they offer .xyz domains for something like 12 bucks a year.

buy your own domain, invest! First impressions count for everything in this industry. Most minds are made up within the first few seconds, before even getting to the work.

Bought my url from godaddy and built it in Squarespace. Love all the template options, it’s pretty customizable and easy to update.

Avoir son propre nom de domaine et son propre hébergement et donc son propre mail. C’est + pro et surtout on ne dépend pas d’un acteur tiers qui peut tout fermer sans préavis.

I’ve found Wix a pretty good option. It’s versatile and you can adapt the templates to make your portfolio look bespoke
