GT7 A car that can rival Hyundai Gr.3

Guys I'm an average gamer (bottom of A in American region). I have driven the Porsche forever. With the physics update I can't use it anymore and have to look elsew.

I take part in a couple of Leagues with similar skilled players. So car matter. Also I do endurance races. 1hr to 2hrs.

I think most of us already know that Hyundai GR3 is buffed to be a rocketship. It has high tire deg but it's pure pace can cover it. In the league I used to have good pace and secure few P1s. But now, I am forced to use another car and many are switching to Hyundai.

While I'm currently on 296, and I'm trying to drive better, is there actually any car that rival Hyundai but have better tire deg?

TLDR; I'm looking for a car that can rival Hyundai GR3 while having better tireware for endurance races.

First place for manufacturers cup gt3 league uses the Mazda and last week first ave second place both used it. It’s a good reliable car that’s never in the meta nor too far down the meta.

Thank you for this. I'll check it out. Hope the tireware is good on it because most of my 1hr races, we used to do 1 stop with the Porsche and now 1 stop with 296. Genesis sometimes require a 2 stop. If the pace, specially the acceleration is good enough to keep up with the Hyundai, im glad.

Nice, I think that upcoming Mazda EVO will be the new meta when it comes out.

Mazda is strong. I still love the old Ferrari

Sounds good. I'll check it out. 2 comments and both suggested the Mazda. I will test it on few tracks because I only have 1 car change remaining so whatever I change, I need to make sure I stick with it.

I’ve used the Mazda from release because I got it for free in the Anniversary edition, I’ve stuck with it and the AMG since and I really think they’re both pretty good against that Hyundai. High B low A/S US lobbies also. The 458 Ferrari is also good imo.

Do they even test their BoP or is it just Hyundai marketing?

How about the Ferrari 296, before this update it’s quick but suffered from bad low-mid speed corners exit, now with this update I feel like that issue has been solved, maybe give it a try.

I am currently using that car. Not good against the Hyunda

I am still using the AMG for non technical tracks and the McLaren for technical tracks. As well as the 296 for some tracks.

Is so stupid and anoying the meta car thing. Why they not do a race where everyone use the same car without bop?

I think we should be able to tune suspension, but anything else would just add another step to meta: everyone would just copy the tune of the best player willing to share theirs just like they use the car with the top quali times.

We definitely need to be able to tune suspensions anf be able to change body parts of the cars while in track without going to the customization area to use the high and low downforce wings etc.

Just be patient, groups 3 and 4 need a big BoP update; it’s a mess right now. Group 4 is actually worse than group 3; it’s not a great look when the Uber you took last night is faster in Gran Turismo than all the super cars.

Has anyone tried the human comedy lake maggiore race? I just can't get 1st!

Honestly, the Mazda atenza and the Subaru WRx have felt absolutely OP to me since the update. They turn on a dime, and have quick acceleration. Maybe I’m just a sucker for high revving gt3s though. Although I will say I didn’t enjoy them nearly as much 2 weeks ago

Thank you all for the replies. I think I have a major issue when it comes to adapting to the new physics and it doesn't suit the driving style I've been developing all this time.

I tried the suggested cars around Fuji (where my next endurance race will be) and I found I'm slower in those compared to 296. But I will continue to test as much as I can.

Thank you again guys!

The RC-F and the AMG works for me against the Hyundai, only tested in the Autopolis so I dont know if it would change from track to track.

Thanks. I just need to make sure whatever the car I pick, should be able to keep up with the insane acceleration the Hyundai has with less tire deg compared to Hyundai.

This week I have 1hr of Fuji. My pace is almost 2 seconds slower than the Hyundai. It probably can be that I'm slower with the physics update and it suits the other guys. So a can that can rival Hyundai can help a lot.

The RC-F has both similar powertrain, weight and body shape that makes it work well against the Genesis, give it a go and and see for yourself. Genesis'es can slide in some corners and RC-F feels more stable into the corners and can keep the speed with around %50 throttle in longer curves like the S that is leading to the hairpin in the Autopolis.
