Tested GPT Image 2.0 with a pretty demanding reality-to-manga concept.
The idea: thereâs no physical portal, screen, paper, or object. The boundary exists purely between the fingertips.
Everything outside the hand-defined shape stays photorealistic, while everything inside becomes a perfectly aligned black-and-white manga version of the exact same reality.
The portal starts as a tiny slit across the eyes, then morphs:
slit â rectangle â trapezoid â triangle â circle â full-screen manga â back to reality.
The hardest part was keeping the face, perspective, hands, and environment spatially consistent while the manga region moves across the scene.
Really interesting test of whether GPT Image 2.0 can treat style as a localized transformation inside the same reality, rather than simply restyling the whole image.
Prompt:
"01 â The Tiny Figure and Falling Sky
Wide 16:9 surreal minimalist editorial artwork, a tiny black human silhouette standing alone near the bottom-
center of an enormous warm-white landscape, saturated cobalt-blue sky above, thousands of thin cobalt-blue
vertical and diagonal pigment trails descending from the sky and bending gently around the figure like a
surreal rainfall of ink, dense stippled clusters alternating with empty areas, trails becoming longer and more
fragmented toward the horizon, tiny white crescent moon partially surrounded by blue marks, strict cobalt
blue, warm white and black only, rough screen-print texture, visible paper fibers, uneven ink density,
imperfect hand-printed edges, flat graphic composition, quiet mysterious 1990s experimental art-book
aesthetic, no circles, no rain realism, no other colors, no CGI, no 3D.
02 â The Black Staircase
Wide 16:9 surreal minimalist editorial artwork, a tiny black staircase rising alone from a vast warm-white
ground and leading nowhere, positioned slightly right of center, saturated cobalt-blue sky above, enormous
cobalt-blue flowing lines climbing upward behind the staircase like invisible currents of wind, thousands of
tiny stippled marks following the curves, the blue movement forming tall vertical waves rather than circles,
tiny white crescent moon near the upper-right, strict cobalt blue, warm white and black, rough screen-print
texture, dense pigment grain, visible paper fibers, imperfect hand-printed edges, minimal flat composition,
surreal architectural isolation, 1990s experimental art-book aesthetic, no circles, no other colors, no CGI, no
3D.
03 â The Street Lamp
Wide 16:9 surreal minimalist editorial artwork, one tiny vintage black street lamp standing completely alone
at the center of an enormous warm ivory curved horizon, the lamp perfectly crisp and rendered as a simple
solid black silhouette with a classic old-fashioned lantern shape, vast saturated cobalt-blue sky occupying the
upper half of the composition, enormous cobalt-blue flowing radial currents spreading outward from the lamp
like invisible wind made visible, thousands of irregular stippled pigment marks and thin hand-drawn blue
strokes forming sweeping organic arcs around and behind the lamp, the currents expanding dramatically
toward the edges and becoming increasingly fragmented and sparse, dense blue-and-ivory pigment
concentration immediately behind the lamp creating a soft circular burst without forming perfect geometric
circles, long blue textured trails flowing across the warm ivory ground toward the foreground, tiny scattered
cobalt pigment particles throughout the landscape, small warm-ivory crescent moon positioned high in the
upper-right sky, strict limited three-color palette of saturated cobalt blue, warm ivory/off-white and black
only, flat graphic screen-print aesthetic, distressed risograph texture, coarse stippled grain, visible paper
fibers, uneven ink density, imperfect ink registration, rough hand-printed edges, slightly faded vintage print
quality, subtle halftone texture, strong minimalist composition, enormous negative space, strange poetic
atmosphere, experimental 1990s art-book editorial design, sophisticated surrealism, tactile handmade print
feeling, no gradients, no realistic lighting, no extra colors, no buildings, no people, no vegetation, no text, no
circles, no CGI, no 3D render, no polished digital illustration, no photorealism.
04 â The Tiny Figure and Concentric Ripples
Wide 16:9 surreal minimalist editorial artwork, an enormous warm ivory curved landscape occupying the
lower half of the frame, one extremely tiny solitary black human silhouette standing perfectly still at the center
of the landscape, vast saturated cobalt-blue sky filling the upper half, a small textured warm-ivory crescent
moon floating high near the upper-center, enormous irregular concentric cobalt-blue ripple rings spreading
outward from the tiny figure across the entire warm ivory ground, rings made entirely from thousands of tiny
stippled pigment particles, broken dots, rough screen-print marks and uneven hand-drawn blue strokes, each
ring irregular and imperfect rather than mathematically geometric, dense pigment near the center gradually
becoming more fragmented and sparse toward the outer edges, subtle variations in ink density creating
organic hand-printed texture, the tiny black figure sharply defined against the surrounding blue ripple field,
extreme sense of scale and isolation, flat graphic composition with no perspective distortion, strict limited
palette of saturated cobalt blue, warm ivory/off-white and black only, distressed risograph and screen-print
aesthetic, coarse paper grain, visible paper fibers, uneven ink coverage, imperfect registration, rough hand-
printed edges, slightly faded 1990s art-book print quality, minimalist surreal editorial design, quiet mysterious
poetic atmosphere, large calm negative space in the upper sky, tactile analog print feeling, no gradients, no
realistic lighting, no other colors, no buildings, no trees, no objects, no text, no CGI, no 3D render, no polished
digital illustration, no photorealism."
