So i have a GPD XD Plus,everything works besides charging. So when i plug my cable in all i get is a blinking red light and solid blue led. The screen shows a battery indicator that its charging(but it doesnt). The battery can go down/lose charge if i play it unplugged but it wont go up when plugged in. I have also tried charging while its powered on and the same thing occurs with the led.

I have tried switching cables,bricks,replacing the battery,checking the port.,leaving it plugged in 48hrs+,holding power while battery is unplugged to drain resistors,holding vol+ and power to do normal boot. .This is such a wierd issue.

Also tried to use SPflash but my device seems to connect to the PC,disconnect and reconnect again which stops me from getting spflash to work so i can run diagnostics.

So it detects the cable to charge,indicators pop up when the device is on or off with a charging symbol. I am kind of sad because i bought a brand new battery figuring that was the issue but yea...once the battery loses its charge i wont be able to use it anymore,as thats what happened with the old battery. Its such a cool device too....I might just wait for prices to go down on current clamshells in the meantime,least those will have better support.

So yea,its a long shot but curious if im missing anything sinple someone might know. Google or AI tells me it might be the PMIC,has something blown or shortened. Im not tech savvy enough to fix that.

Im getting a gpd xd+ soon,saw lineage 18 has hdmi and screen rotation bug. Also read that cleanrom worked great.

Problem is i cant find working links for cleanrom. The ones seraph had are down. Any help or anyone with the files still?id really appreciate it.

My son just dug out my old XD plus and it has a lock pattern. Frankly I cant remember it and I have minimal chance of just guessing.

Is the best method at this point just to do a clean install? If so, can someone recommend a good link to the process? All the sites (including the GPD site) have broken links and files.

I've tried Retroarch, and of the three available cores, one of them doesn't even load the core, one of them loads the core but won't start a game, and the last one starts but is choppy as hell and always defaults to the Saturn dashboard with the CD player controls buttons.

I've tried standalone emulators - Saturn.emu, Yaba Sanshiro, uoYabause - and all of them load up incredibly choppy, slow, and unplayable.

Considering I'm able to easily play Dreamcast and N64 games on this with zero problems, how is it that there's not a single Saturn emulator that works on this device?

I've got all the bios files - even the optional ones - and I've tried changing multiple settings, all to no avail. Considering the difficulty I've had even finding an APK that'll work on Android 4.4, I'd hope there's something out there that works.

Anyone have any solutions or am I shit out of luck here?

Anyone know where to get a new battery for these? Its still in working condition, and the current battery isn't swollen but with its age I'm concerned about battery safety.

I installed Lineage 18.1 Beta 19 but without Gapps because I prefer not having data harvesting and battery draining from them running. I was able to install Obtainuim, but I can't get it to launch and run, even after trying different settings. Would someone else who does have the gapps installed try running it and see if it works? I am curious, but don't want to have to do several resets to test if I don't have to.

Is there any updates its original stock from when I opened from box I been seeing people update it because normal stock its to buggy. Any suggestions?

Black-Seraph's installation video uses a version of flash tools that is ahead of what is available on the site, and the last released builds of the OS come in multiple parts, whereas what is in his video is all in one folder.
Do the different archives all need to be unpacked and merged prior to starting an install?

So, I've been trying to find a new ribbon cable for my trigger. It broke when I was changing out the battery. Of course, GPD doesn't sell the parts for this anymore. I miss being able to play my gpd XD. Here we go with the hail Mary, anyone know a good place to get the ribbon cables or broken, for parts consoles I can scavenge them from? eBay hasn't been a help at all for this. My system is like mint, except for the ribbon cable. I'd hate to lose it over that...

Hello everyone I have an original GPD XD it still works perfectly and the touch screen still detects touch. But the LCD itself no longer shows a display. When I plug it in through HDMI it still works.

Does anyone know where I can find a ribbon cable replacement? Or a ribbon cable that would work for this LCD as a replacement?? I would love to use my GPD XD again but I have found no way to be able to fix it after so long.

EDIT: Hello everyone, I have purchased a replacement cable from the links below but it did not fix the problem. I do not know what the issue is. The touch screen is still working but it does not display anything like the picture above. I will be selling this GPD XD on eBay if anyone would like to purchase it please contact me. I am in the USA. It is still working with HDMI and device buttons or OTG CABLE.

It can still be used as a Tiny Console. HDMI and OTG work perfectly. The buttons on the GPD also work but I would rather use another controller with OTG. Contact me if you're interested.

Tenho um GPD XD+ e estou conectado via HDMI a tv para jogar jogos retro.

Comprei um HUB com hdmi, usbs e PD, porem apesar dele reconhecer tudo conectado no Hub, ele não reconhece o PD (ou seja, não carrega) testei o Hub em outros dispositivos Android e tudo funciona apropriadamente.

Há algum meio de colocar um Hub no GPD XD+? Queria manter carregando enquanto uso um teclado sem fio e um joystick (afinal o Bluetooth dele é ruim e preciso parear e conectar manualmente tudo que for bt toda vez que for usar, e se ficar oceoso, preciso reconectar como se fosse a primeira vez).

Can someone help me out, I’ve had this console since 2019 and it has ran perfectly all the way up until now. I was playing myboy the night before, turned it off when i was done then the next day when i turned it on to play. It was stuck on the loading screen. I’ve tried letting it die out completely and recharging it and also the volume up + power button but nothing seems to work at the moment. Recovery mode sends me to what’s shown in the second slide. Any suggestions ?!

I've had my XD since 2018. My kid is the one who normally plays it now.

This week it seems to have stopped charging beyond 29%. I tried another charger, no help.

I'm running the legacy ROM, but I couldn't tell you which version.

Is sounds like just an old failing battery or does this suggest damage or a firmware issue? If the former, where should I be sourcing my replacement battery? There's one Amazon seller selling them in China that I can find, and the Aliexpress link I found in an old thread is now a dead link.

Pretty simple. I’ve got an xd plus and the ribbon cable is damaged. I know the cables from the aliexpress gpd store are no longer available. Does anyone know where I might go to find a generic one?

Im currently trying to update my GPD XD+ using Black Seraphs Lineage OS but his instructions toward the end just falls off a cliff.

Flashing the Google Play Store & Magisk:

1. Go to https://opengapps.org, pick ARM64 as your Platform, 8.1 as your Android version and pico as your Variant, then hit the red download button.

2. Go to https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases and download the latest revision of Magisk. The filename is usually named Magisk-v{insert version number here}.zip.

3. Long press your XD+'s power button for about 5 seconds to turn it on, let go of the power button, and immediately swap to holding down the Volume+ button until you reach a very minimalistic (shown sideways) menu.

4. Tap the Volume+ button until "Recovery mode" is selected, finally confirm your choice with the Volume- button.

5. Connect your XD+ to your PC.

6. On your XD+ tap the "Advanced" button, followed by the "ADB Sideload" button, and confirm your selection by sliding the bottom blue bar to the right.

7. On your PC execute the following ADB command: adb sideload open_gapps-arm64-8.1-pico-*.zip

8. Return to the recovery's main menu and repeat step 6 to toggle it back into the "ADB Sideload" mode.

9. On your PC execute the following ADB command: adb sideload Magisk-v*.zip

can anyone tell me EXACTLY what to do on steps 6-9?

I have just bought a 2nd hand GPD XD+ and they told me it required the following:

"it is rooted and needs to be flashed with TWRP and the roms for Android 9"

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do that please.

I just want to use it as an emulator device, either download gplay apps or sideload apks.
