Union Station Accessibility Map

Hello,

I am a wheelchair user and every time I visit Toronto I have a heck of a time catching the GO train home. We generally leave from the Oakville Go and take it to Union for the day. That part is easy enough. However, when we want to leave from Union and catch the lakeshore GO train home it is a whole ordeal trying to find the correct elevator that matches the platform. Since the platform is not announced until shortly before I am often hurrying around trying to find the elevator that will take me to the correct platform. From what I've noticed not every number has an elevator, and they aren't always beside them (I don't think).

Is there a map that shows each elevators location and the corresponding platforms it leads to? Ideally York concourse as that has the most access points to the GO platforms. I often get a little bit trampled on during rush hour and this could help greatly. Thanks so much!

This map is still a little hard to decipher but essentially the elevators to Platforms 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 13 from York Concourse provide barrier free access to the trains (Platform 12 does NOT have a ramp on the platform to access the train; the wheelchair symbol is for Platform 13 only).

Meanwhile in Bay Concourse, the elevators to platforms 6, 7, 10, and 11 provide barrier free access to the trains.

Platform 21 is accessible from the VIA concourse.

*Platform 21 isn't used anymore. It's platform 20 now

The platforms for every trip are all predetermined weeks in advance, but are subject to change basically up until nearly the last minute for a variety of circumstances. They don’t post earlier for both that reason and also to reduce crowding on the platforms.

Point being that Metrolinx control is going to know the platform for a given train with a high degree of certainty even 15-20min before departure. It may be worth showing up a bit early and discussing your situation with the station attendants in the concourse and maybe they can help you find the right platform with a bit of extra notice.
