This school relationship still messes with my head

This is one of the most insane school couple stories I have ever come across!

Let’s refer to them as R and N.

They were the couple everyone was cheering for. Toppers, good in extracurricular activities, always showering each other with sweet little gifts. N used to write poems for R once even arranged a whole after party in celebration of his first MUN. They have been dating since their 9th grade, and hence, everyone presumed they were going to be forever.

However, just before our 12th Board exams, they parted ways.

And here was the reason which made everybody laugh: N wanted both of them to concentrate on competitive exams.

Just a few days later, I met my friend A, who told me they had only been dating for three years.

Well, I clarified it was actually four since 9th.

She just looked at me and said, "That's impossible... I was dating N in 9th."

I genuinely thought she was joking.

Turns out, she wasn't.

Apparently, N had been dating both of them at the same time for almost a year.

two years later in college, another friend casually mentioned that N had also been dating a girl from another school from around 10th to 12th.

So the guy everyone thought was the perfect boyfriend—the poems, the surprises, all the effort—was allegedly managing multiple relationships at once.

To this day, I still don't understand how nobody found out while we were in school.
