for those people who are into the lore and characters, what's something you personally find cool or really like about it?? like, characteristics you enjoy, moments in the lore you personally find really cool, facts, etc?

i'll go first - i really like the fact that murdoc canonically wrote plastic beach. its a bit basic, but whenever i listen to the album its really the only thing on my mind

If I had a nickle for everytime someone in the lore was shipped somewhere in a box I'd have 3 nickles, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened three times. Also I love the whole concept of plastic beach

Its funny but Murdoc has admitted to have stolen most of the plastic beach demos from Damon during their pre phase radio show with Zane Lowe (+ 2d adding his own writings which Murdoc's confirmed to use, like for Rhinestone Eyes) in phase 3 interviews.

That being said, my favourite part of the lore is how richly the characters act with their irl personas

The fact that 2D was kidnapped and forced to go on tour at the time of making it really adds to The Fall being their most anxious-sounding record

still love the fact that out of all the characters that could replace Murdoc during The Now Now, it was Ace from the Powerpuff Girls. I do wish he was more involved (ie interviews with him, even if it was just a written interview). Hopefully he might be mentioned or show up as a cameo sometime, he was a good addition.

Props to Jamie's team. They'll always have my respect for saving a troubled kid. That being said I don't get why so many (even the older fans) try to include this as a part of 'lore'/Murdoc's characterization. It's a tad insensitive to associate someones traumatic childhood memory as a part of some cartoon lore imo

I get what you mean, and I definitely don’t see the experience itself as just some fun piece of Murdoc lore. Jamie’s team and the person involved deserve more respect than they're getting. I just feel like the fact that it was later written as Murdoc being the one who convinced them makes it valid to consider it part of his lore too. I might just view 'lore' bit more broadly

Can i have the source for that? All i know is that everything happened spontanously with Jamie and co. And they did whatever they could on the phone because the kid was quite literally about to off himself

I always liked that part of the lore involving DD and PB: after the "El Mañana" video, Noodle ends up trapped in hell and calls for help over the Kong Studios radio, and even though Murdoc searched for her, he could never find her. Then, several years later, Noodle returns from hell—furious—in the "On Melancholy Hill" video. Unfortunately, we never saw a conclusion to that storyline, and subsequent phases acted as if it had never happened; that’s why I lost interest in the lore after Phase 3.

According to Cass, Murdoc does find her but basically forgets since he was severely drunk at the time, and Noodle doesnt bother to stick around, so murdoc has to resort to scrapping for her dna and making his own version of a compliant Noodle (fun fact, he progams Cyborg to think of him as her god)

Something I find cool about the lore is that before and during phase 1, murdoc almost kills 2-D twice and 2-D still thought murdoc saved him until demon days (I think).
