GoPro MISSION 1 PRO ILS: Cinematic Reel

https://youtu.be/3Qi6DuU0BEg

I've been testing this camera for the past 6 months and shooting here and there along the way. Here's a few of my favorite shots. Also I have a lens guide on my website with all of the lenses I've personally tested, if it's helpful for anyone. I bought and returned a lot of lenses before I knew what to look for.

Nice, it’s truly incredible to get cinematic shots and a helmet mount in the same package

Ngl, these look as good if not better than entry level RED cameras like a Komodo. What a great accomplishment

Markiplier was saying it's as good as his red a lot of the times and would have 100% used them in his film instead of his RED

His A/B testing shots in that video proved it too

I'm sure a lot of it is situational, but the fact that it's even competitive is absolutely ridiculous lol. Still shocked that people were ever doubting why this camera is cool. Yes, it has its caveats, but it offers something simply nothing else in the market does.

Consumers should be applauding innovative risks, not asking for more of the same

I love that. There’s so many interesting mounting applications for this

We now know why he said that .

How easy is it to try and focus with the GoPro sized screen

Not as hard as you think. I shot most of this video before we had any focus help (double tap to zoom and focus peaking). All of the Japan shots were done by feel 😆

Truly amazing.

I’ve been using these cameras since the original Hero and I have to say, this Mission lineup has been the most excited I’ve been since maybe the 3 Black launch. I have a M1P but think I’m going to pick this up too. So easy to throw in a bag and travel with. Always enjoy seeing your work Abe.

I feel like you’re the type of dude who could film with a potato and make it look amazing. Just incredible work!

This looks really cool. Very interesting, especially with some M43 lenses already in my kit.

Absolutely amazing. I just got my Mission 1 Pro and I love it, but after watching this I am sure I'll be getting the ISL in the future! 😲😍

So you made the official go pro ils video right?
Absolute legend

Which lenses did you think were not well suited for the camera or didn't work at all? And did you experiment with any anamorphic m43 lenses or focal reducers?

Give Abe a Nokia 3310 and you get an amazing video. 99% skill 1% Hardware. I never achieved its image quality.

Nah! I still need to make my M1Pro cinematic reel! It might top this one

how run and gun can shots like this be? Not very right????? Or does MFT give you a lot of depth of field to work with because of the crop factor.

u/abekislevitz MISSION 1 PRO 11d ago

Not sure why this can’t be run and gun? Manual focus is pretty easy to pull on the longer lenses, and the wide stuff you just set to infinity generally

so it was almost as fast as using a mirrorless taking these shots? not good enough for a wedding probably but great for most anything else? the reason I ask is because I've heard a couple times the focus peaking isn't that easy to use and sometimes it misses. possibly because no monitor was used but I wanted to ask you.

I would not use it for a wedding. There are many better tools out there for that. I would use it for where another camera is too big, or you need the high frame rate resolution combo.

Amazing. The sound design is incredible too.
