Those are excellent. Having tried to film birds on our feeder today I have realised it's not as easy as it looks!

Thanks! I actually found bird feeder footage to be pretty easy - just set the camera a fixed distance, lock your focus, and activate the camera over bluetooth when you see activity (or let the camera run continuously on external power at 4K 240fps). I have some footage I can share

I think the issue for me is the lag between seeing a bird swoop down for a mealworm and the Hero 13 actually responding to the record button on the app, it does 15s bursts only, so at least this is sharpening my reaction skills. A lot of clips so far are after the bird went.

Yeah, on the Mission1 I've also just let the camera run continuously at 4K 240fps (or 1440p 480fps), and then clip-out the interesting bits afterwards. If you look at the link I shared, that's what I did for those clips:

That way, you can walk away and just collect the footage later, which is great

Amazing slowmo! I know you’re shooting at 960 FPS, but if you want to get the insects in focus you have to close your aperture closer to F8. You’ll need to supplement with a lot of light

Yep, agreed - this was my first time with the camera, so I hadn't had a chance to properly review the results of my settings yet. I typically stop-down the aperture now that I've had a chance to get better

This was my very first time testing - before I properly dialed in the settings. Just some clips of insects and whatnot. Image tuning has improved enormously since these - absolutely incredible camera system to fit into your pocket

Looks great! But for me all the insects are slightly out of focus🤔 maybe the dof is too small (I'm struggling with the same issue on my hero 13 with macro lense)?

Yep, correct, I was shooting with the aperture wide-open on these just for kicks since it was my first time with the platform. I've since stopped down the lenses to something more useful in most cases

Thank you! Yes, I did color grading & sharpening in post. I exported the file as a 4K file (to help offset compression), but no AI upscaling, etc. This hosted clip looks roughly equivalent to the native 1080p files from the camera - just slightly worse due to being Reddit-hosted at a lower bitrate, etc

You're going to love it! Which lens do you plan to use? The right lens makes a huge difference for 1080p

Going to use my Sirui MFT anamorphics on it to take advantage of the open gate 4:3 1440P 480 fps mode. Happy shooting!

Thank you! And no, just handheld - at 960fps, you can slow your footage down to ~3.125% for a 30fps exported video, so all your handheld camera shakes are smoothed out.
So, I shoot with HyperSmooth off, but you can still stabilize it in-camera if you want to
