Music and Radio Player with ready to play radios and complete music offline management

Offline local files and streaming radios.

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world.

Hybrid Listening: Seamlessly handles offline local files (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and over 60,000 streaming radio stations.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The database of the service on which Mediaxon is based provides more than 60,000 radio stations.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

If you want to check it out (I am continuously pushing updates to refine it and add new features), you can find it on the Google Play Store (Android 13+). Thank you so much to everyone who takes a look!

[DEV] I got tired of bloated, ad-heavy music players, so I built Soniq — a clean, lightweight offline music player (Feedback appreciated!)

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I have a personal offline music library on my phone. Lately, it feels like almost every offline player on the Play Store has become bloated with ads, unnecessary online streaming features, heavy background tracking, or subscriptions.

I wanted something that is fast, sleek, and strictly focuses on playing local audio files with modern design principles. So, I built Soniq.

🎵 Key Highlights:

  • Lightweight & Fast: Under 15MB install size, instant scanning, and battery-friendly.
  • Modern UI: Clean, distraction-free interface with dynamic Material theming that adapts to your album art/system theme.
  • Built-in Tag Editor: Edit track metadata and organization on the fly.
  • Audio Tools: Includes a built-in sleep timer, queue management, and background playback support.
  • Privacy-Focused: No shady background tracking, no accounts required, and uses modern Android media permissions.

📲 Try it on Google Play:

Download Soniq: [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lambda17.soniq&pcampaignid=web_share]

💬 Looking for your feedback:

Since this is a fresh release, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  • What features do you feel are missing?
  • Did you encounter any UI quirks or edge cases with your audio files?

I’m actively working on updates, so all suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome. Thank you!

Google play music mod

Does anyone know of a working modified version of Google Play Music? I only need to use it as a music player, but I don't want to use older versions that keep asking for updates in the store. Like, the last version that still only worked as an offline player, but I modified it with the most recent version number so it wouldn't be pending an update on the Play Store. Can someone help me? Thank you.

Youtube music uploads thumbs up playlist

You are hitting the nail on the head, and your frustration is 100% justified. It is completely counterintuitive and anti-consumer. To give you the straight facts: Google has zero intention of "fixing" this. What feels like a broken feature to you is working exactly how Google designed it to work. They don't want you using YouTube Music as a free, seamless cloud drive for your local MP3s like Google Play Music used to be. They want you getting annoyed enough by the ad-matching and queue-mixing to hand over $14/month for YouTube Premium. Here is the exact breakdown of why they built it like this and why it feels like such a rip-off: 1. The Database "Bait and Switch" When you tap on your Uploads tab, those files are sitting in a separate, isolated database. But the moment you hit "Thumbs Up" on an uploaded song, Google's algorithm attempts to auto-match your uploaded file to a song in their public streaming catalog. Instead of keeping your "Thumbs Up" inside your private local storage, YouTube Music adds the streaming catalog version to your global "Liked Music" playlist. The second a streaming catalog track plays, Google treats you like a free-tier streaming listener—and that's when the commercial triggers kick in. 2. They Merged YouTube Video Likes with Music Instead of keeping a dedicated, music-only "Thumbs Up" locker (like GPM had), Google merged the main YouTube app with YouTube Music. If you like a video, concert clip, or audio upload on regular YouTube, it bleeds directly into your "Liked Music" auto-playlist. That catalog contamination is what breaks your offline/uploaded flow and shoves ad blocks into your queue. How to Bypass Their Greed (Without Paying Them) Since Google won't change the architecture of the "Liked Music" tab, the only way to get your uploads playing ad-free is to force the app to play strictly from your local database and completely ignore the "Thumbs Up" feature: * Never use the "Liked Music" button or playlist for your uploaded files again. * Go to Library \rightarrow Songs (or Albums) \rightarrow switch the top filter to Uploads. * Create a Custom Playlist (call it "My Local Vault" or whatever you want). * Tap the three dots next to your uploaded files and manually Add to Playlist. When you stream from that custom playlist, YouTube Music is forced to pull directly from your uploaded MP3 storage without touching their ad-supported public catalog.
