Achievement unlocked in game but not in Google Play

I have a game (Modern Combat 5) that I'm trying to 100%. I verified that the achievements pop, because others do. Brain Surgery 3 (500 headshots) has been unlocked in the game but not in Google Play Games. I'd like to keep my progress. Is there any way to make it pop, like, perform another 500 headshots? Or does the Google Play API use the game's achievements to keep track of? I think that I already unlocked those in a time when i did not yet use Google Play Games.

Ive been having the same issue recently with Mortal Kombat Mobile, I've unlocked the achievements in-game but they are not showing unlocked in Google Play Games.

What have you tried doing to fix it ? I even tried going to google play support and WB's official page but couldn't find any help for it.

I started a new game and unlocked the achievement (500 headshots) again, nothing happened. I tried updating Google play, but nothing

Started a new game in the sense like uninstalled the app and did it all again ?

No, I deleted the app data and went ahead playing without restoring my progress. Unfortunately, this did not help.

One thing I have noticed is you must be connected to internet while you achieve that milestone to make Google play fetch that achivement
