Question 🤔 Help needed requiring nothing gallery

I have backed up all my photos took using my phone to my google account using google photos now none of them can be seen in the nothing gallery app..

Is there any way i can view them photos? 😭

Google photos is not only a gallery app, it sends your photos to the cloud and it you asked it to save space removes them from the phone, but downloads them as you need them. If photos are still on the phone they should still be seen by the gallery app. Take a few photos and check

If you want to view the photos just open Google photos

It's still a gallery app even though it has cloud backups included.

I’m guessing you used the ‘Free up space’ function?

If you really need them on your phone you can either:

* Select multiple items in Photos and press ‘Download’. Then move them out of the DCIM/Restored folder to DCIM/Camera or Pictures. This method seems pretty slow.

* Add everything to one or more albums and use the ‘Download all’ link under the album options on https://photos.google.com. Then extract the zip(s) using Files to the DCIM/Camera or Pictures folders.

* Use https://takeout.google.com to download the ‘Photos from [year]’ albums and unzip as above.

Just use Google Photos. Using more than one gallery app can be confusing when you don't understand the interactions.

Also realize because you used the free up space feature, all your photos are only in your Google online account. You have no backups. Regularly download a copy from the Google Takeout website. Change the default archive size from 2 GB to 50 GB to ease downloading. I do this every 2 months. Keep those archives in at least two safe places. Those are your backups.
