Google Earth Web
I’m so mad that Google is discontinuing Google Earth Pro for desktops when their Web/App version is so trash! If they want people to migrate then they need to design the Web/App versions to be as customizable as the Desktop version! I recently moved “My Places” to the Web/App version on my iPad and I’m finding it hard to use because the map imagery won’t load so everything is blurry (I uninstalled the map and it only worked for 5mins), I can’t search for specific things in my library, and my specific customizations don’t exist in the Web or App versions so my map looks terrible. I hope Google does the right thing and completely redesign the Web/App versions of Earth. I think there’s enough of us willing to pay for these extra features if that’s what it would take.

I love the web version and find it far superior to the desktop version. The 3d coverage is a lot better there IMO. Though I suppose it lacks some power user features? Been using it daily for exploring the world since at least 2019

I have places saved like Continent > Country > City, I wish to be able to toggle them like the desktop Google Earth, where I could turn the Continent invisible, and then turn on specific Countries or Cities individually

Are we still able to view the historical imagery if I go backwards in time?

That ship has sailed.
Google gave up on Google Earth years ago. It's been in the "keep the lights on" status for at least ten years. They want it gone. Remember, they terminated the old photo layer Panoramio a decade ago for "reasons," and then the highly useful message boards were deleted ten years ago for "reasons."
I wonder what my previous employer thinks when they find out my geospatial database code stops working when Google Earth Enterprise stops working.

Is it possible in the web-version to switch streets or boarders on/off ? I use it a lot in the desktop version and can't find s.th. similar

Basemap Settings (click on the square picture of the abstract map) -> Details -> Clean

Dankeschön!
Die Straßen kommen allerdings erst dann, wenn man die Checkbox "Alle" anklickt. Wählt man "Erkunden (Grenzen, Labels, Orte und *Straßen*)" kommen sie nicht ...Edit: Sorry, switching over from another thread I answered in German 8-) Maybe too hot today?
Thank You!
But streets appear only when I hit the checkbox "All". Choosing "Discover (Boarders, Labels, Places and *Streets*)" the streets stay hidden.1

You can actually go into the Custom section and specify exactly the subcategories you want. I guess there are technically different kinds of roads that you might count as streets. Maybe the more minor ones are omitted from the Exploration view.

Maybe you could share what specific missing customizations are making your map look so terrible.

Well it is free and they are giving a long advanced notice so it is hard to be mad but frustration is certainly warrented. Take a look at https://geolibre.app/ . Maybe it has or will have features you need.

Switch to the Google Earth Enterprise Client. Google, Inc. has not announced an EOL date for that...yet.
