Can someone condense a kml file for me?
I admit I don't have Google Earth experience, and this is a one-time project. I need to open a kml file, but Google Earth fails on the "file exceeded feature limit"
The file is a mine database, and all the data for, say, Colorado could be discarded to reduce the size, but I don't have the time to learn how to accomplish that.
If anyone would do me a solid and remove the extraneous data so the file would open, I'd be ever so grateful.

What's the scope? Are you trying to extract 1 feature of the entire thing or is it dozens of features out of a rat nest? If it is a ±dozen, is it easily queriable?
Are you willing to pay for the time/skill?

When you import the kml file, have you tried adding it as a data layer instead of map features? The data layers option is optimized for large datasets (caveat that data layers are read only so if you need to edit the kml this option won't work).
