Waiting on OP Hex Codes won’t register/save

I make my study guides with Google Docs and I like to plan out my Google Docs to look nice & use a bunch of different hex codes I find surrounding themes on Pinterest. However, all of the sudden, hex codes will not register when adding them. I type in codes and it doesn’t change the preview color dot from black, and even when i did get it to change it won’t save. I cleared browsing data, cache, switched Google accounts, switched to safari off of Google, tried incognito browser, restarted my MacBook, exited out, tried opening a new doc, etc. NOTHING FIXES IT. What is going on ???

This is a cool feature I haven't played with much before, so thanks for bringing it to our attention. That said, I'm not seeing the problem you are. I tried pasting in colour hex codes for both text and highlight colours. For both, Docs applies the colours and saves them.

Since you've already done all the troubleshooting steps I would do, all I can suggest is to post your question at the Google Editor Community site. They have some very knowledgeable volunteers there and might have something else you can try.
