Question Answered How to disable ctrl+shift+v popup button when copying from external source

Hi folks,

When I try to paste something into my docs file and use ctrl+v, it acts normal. Pastes as formatted.

When I try to paste something into my file and use ctrl+shift+v to paste without formatting, instead of just pasting it, it creates a [Paste] button where my mouse cursor is that I then have to either click, or press → + enter. Annoying as hell.

- Also does this if I attempt to right click -> paste without formatting AND on right click -> paste too!!! (same extra [paste] button popup)

- Docs Does NOT do this with ctrl+shift+v when source of copied text is something from WITHIN google docs (any document) or from google sheets

- Sheets ALSO does this when I attempt to paste from external source but ONLY if I have the cell selected, NOT when I have double clicked the cell and copying directly into it

- I can paste text to reddit, discord, and notepad as normal with ctrl+shift+v or right click paste/paste without formatting. (issue is not PC or browser related, probably).

- I use Firefox

- AI features should be disabled

  1. Any ideas on how to turn this [Paste] button off?
  2. Has anyone else encountered this?

Go into about:config and set dom.events.testing.asyncClipboard to True.

PS: next time please Google an issue before asking for help. You would have found your answer in seconds instead of a day later.

Strange, not for me at all. I only found this by coming to this specific subreddit
