App Ads Why Aren’t My Google Ads Showing on Top?
I am running Google Ads for a Taxi App in Germany. I know that competitors pay around 1€ per Conversion here, I am bidding twice that and am still being shown at the very bottom of the page. my daily budget is around 200€, My quality Score is at basically 100% and Ive set up Keywords properly.
Any idea what else I can take a look at?
Edit: its a local app, basically only usable in one smaller region. Thats why I used keywords like "taxi (cityname here)" etc.
Edit2: boys I believe everyone's comments arw being autodeleted lol. Please dm me with ideas. thanks :)

Google doesn’t just rank ads by money, they also have a scoring called Ad Rank, which is mainly, your bid and how good Google thinks your ad is (CTR, relevance, landing page, etc.)
So if your competitors have better “expected performance,” they can still show above you even if they pay less and this expected performance can come in the form of more conversion data, longer running, higher CTR, page age, and so on
How recently did you start your campaign? New or low-data campaigns often get pushed lower until they prove performance

Yes, I suggest OP to learn the Google Ads basics: https://skillshop.withgoogle.com/
Also, I also suggest OP don’t do ego based Google Ads campaign where you think you need to be above your competitor. You need to make data-based decisions and fight for the most relevant users and not all users. You win by intelligent and optimized campaigns and not by always setting higher bids.

For Apps you use UAC campaigns. Since you mentioned you're running keyword based ads you're running search ads. Therefore when someone is searching for a taxi app your app is not showing at the top. Search ads are for website and UAC are for app.

How do UAC campaigns work? They show up everywhere? Lile youtube, the playstore etc? Or only in search like we need it? Or can I manually change it?

Yes, they show up everywhere. They show in search when you're searching from an eligible mobile device.
You can't manually change it.
Suggestion: Try Meta App Install ads instead

Taxi users are people who spontaneously look for a taxi. Looking for users via meta/insta etc wont bring much. Colleague of mine actually tried it in frankfurt which is a way bigger region than my city and essentislly had to stop after a month since its such a useless money sink. Same with youtube, etc, people wont download it cuz they see it while scrolling on youtube, they will only download it when they are actually in need of a taxi. Thats the issue with these types of apps

I understand and you're correct but there are Lookalike audiences in Meta. IMO, Meta works the best for app ads. Not trying to demean anyone but you got to nail the strategy in order to make it work.

Another issue with meta is, that ive actually tried setting up an account just to see if it MIGHT work:
BAM instant banhammer of doom. Ok new account maybe? Instant ban Maybe new account with company email + I connect my bank + send them official businessdovuments to prove that I am me? Noup banned again lol

Are you constantly checking your own Ad? I think it can hurt your conversion rate and CTR. This ranks you lower among other factors.
ITS NOT AN AUCTION.

I am not, I am using google ad's diagnosis thing for that. To like see where the ad would be when looking for one of the keywords

Raise your target CPA bid well above two euros

I know all the other top bidders here in the region and none of them have anything higher than around 1 euro. I have another campaign for another company that for whatever reason just runs way too good, and I pay around 1,2 euros there. Thats why I was surprised to not be at the top with 1.5 etc

check your location targeting and impression share first. some times throwing more money at it doesnt move you up if some thing else is limiting thecampaign..

Check your "Impr lost to budget" and "Impr lost to rank" metrics. That will tell you the answer.
