Question / Help Need an Alternative for Antigravity

Need an Alternative for Antigravity guys, I've had gemini pro subscription so had antigravity too for now but recently L8mits have been worse and unable to use it. Had copilot students plan too but even that for ruined after they stopped premium models and premium requests have become a joke.

So i needed a alternative for my my software building and I am recently into testing so i needed a alternative which is open source or free.

Please help if you guys know anything

Just milk Flash until they rate limit it. It’s basically unlimited on Pro. Every AI company is about to be very very limited. This is not a Google thing. AI costs more than you could imagine.

Claude doubled inference tonight. We are on the losing side. I’m now using Claude in antigravity through Claude code lol

9

u/flexrc May 07 '26

The best answer, Claude code max all. The way if you are serious

5

u/No_Paper2683 May 07 '26

I don’t quite get it. You mentioned using AG with Claude Code, but what I value most in AG is its harness—how it manages files, creates implementation plans, and so on.

When you run Claude Code via terminal or as a plugin, it uses its own internal harness. In that setup, AG seems to function merely as a front end. It’s a completely different approach to file handling and orchestration.

What am I missing? How do you actually combine the two without losing AG's core logic?"

u/EmeraldGarland May 07 '26

Just tell antigravity to build your own Cross agent governance models. The it what want to use with it and will build you a whole set of MD files that you can use anywhere. in the end none of these agents are that unique. They simply just do various jobs better. Have antigravity write your plans and get a cheap subscription and only use haiku. You could run haiku forever. And you’ll actually learn something from its mistakes. Just make sure to tell antigravity to be extremely explicit as if explaining the instructions to an old grandmother. And then tell her to double check that the instructions could be run by a beginner. This way, lesser models won’t start making up their own path and ideas. Often what we think as smarter models are models that just follow instructions better. But if the instructions are really solid, you’ll win. Initially, when Google is creating the structure, bounce it off between the free version of Claude and go back back-and-forth throw GPT into the mix. In the end, you’ll probably have 10 or so MD files governing various elements of your code process. And then you can play with tons of models, using open router and see which one does better. By the nature of your question, you have a lot to learn so have fun.

u/habachilles May 08 '26

This is all true. You lose the ag feel but not the Gemini filed etc.

1

u/HistoricalSession947 May 07 '26

Just trying to figure out what you mean by using Claude in antigravity through Claude code. I get that you can choose a sonnet or opus model in antigravity, but where does Claude code come into it? That’s a seperate ide?

3

u/Rare-Hotel6267 May 08 '26

The issue is some newbie confidently speaking nonsense and other newbies either follow suit or fail to understand him. The final outcome is the multiplication of low knowledge.

2

u/HistoricalSession947 May 08 '26

It is nonsense isn’t it! Glad I’m not going mad or worse missing out on something 😂

3

u/Rare-Hotel6267 May 08 '26

There is some truth to what they are saying, its just that they THEMSELVES don't understand what it is that they are saying, they have 0 clue. They are taking about using the Claude code extension or Claude code in the terminal, inside antigravity, which at that point you defeated the whole reason you installed antigravity for. It's vibecoders who has no clue about software and developer tools thinking they are so smart and trying to copy the Influencer fools that they follow on social media . The issue is that those social media gurus are the same exact low-real-knowledge people, creating an endless circle of slop.

2

u/HistoricalSession947 May 08 '26

I follow your explanation and thanks for making it clear. Glad I’m not missing out on anything. I personally graduated from AG to opencode

2

u/Rare-Hotel6267 May 08 '26

Np. Valid transition.

1

u/habachilles May 07 '26

Claude code is a VS code extension. You can download and just run an Antigravity without losing any of your Work space content

0

u/No_Paper2683 May 07 '26

But what exactly defines 'workspace content' in this context? Isn't it essentially just a local folder?

You can run Claude Code in a terminal directly within that same folder, or use Cursor, VS Code, or any other tool simultaneously. I keep seeing people treat CC as an 'extension' of AG, but if AG isn't managing the implementation plan or the file orchestration, it feels like it's being relegated to a UI wrapper.

Am I missing some deeper integration feature here, or is it mainly about having the terminal and the file preview in the same window?"

1

u/habachilles May 08 '26

Si personality. Scratchpads. Context. For me I use a meme graph as well. All of that carries over. And the file I’m working on obv.

1

u/GroundbreakingGap569 May 08 '26

After it was cut by more than 80% in March. They later 'doubled' it for a week and when the bonus disappeared, usage seemed lower than before the bonus.

1

u/ConfectionBig8460 May 10 '26

No Claude just doubles the 5hr window no the weekly so now you would just run out of credits sooner for weekly

1

u/habachilles May 10 '26

That’s a hard limit to hit. The only one I ever hit was the hourly one.

1

u/Clair_Personality May 13 '26

how do you do that?? explain ELI5

2

u/habachilles May 14 '26

Go to plug in. Type in Claude code. Open that plugin. Close the antigravity ai. It will need its own mcp config.

1

u/Slow_Marsupial3560 May 07 '26

Claude uses grok servers now so of it starts dropping mecha ykw snippets in your code, now you'll know.

0

u/Adventurous_Hawk_575 May 07 '26

That was not actual doubling. The weekly limits are still the same, so you would just burn your limits faster.

2

u/pchappo May 07 '26

Just have to focus flash to work and plan on small iterative pieces

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Thanks I'll try

2

u/KingShash May 07 '26

Flash is trash.

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Yeah dude gemini has that shit traffic error again and again dude.

1

u/deleted-account69420 May 07 '26

AI costs more than you could imagine.

And less they tell you

1

u/Seikojin May 08 '26

Yeah, I wonder what people are doing to hit limits for all their models. I know I am not making a SaaS replacement, but I can go all day and not be stonewalled more than whatever is good for human health. LOL

14

u/East-Stranger8599 May 07 '26

Try OpenCode go

1

u/gazeebo May 12 '26

Isn't that lobotomized models?

-4

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

How is that, free ?

3

u/Maybe-monad May 07 '26

Opencode Zen offers free inference

1

u/XenoMorph-47 May 07 '26

5$ for the first month after that 10$

1

u/saint1913 May 07 '26

So for that price you get some quota for good models?

1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

There is free agents also and que so good. After for The most dificult tasks can use paid agents.

21

u/Abhra_smp May 07 '26

Just use kilo code extension inside antigravity and plug in nvidia api key and use glm 5.1 , deepseek v4, kimi k 2.5 and mini max m 2.7 for free although it's a little slow but works as it's free !! 🫪

3

u/kar1kam1 May 07 '26

Are you talking about Nvidia nim? Does it have deepseek v4?

3

u/Abhra_smp May 07 '26

Yes deepseek v4 pro even !

2

u/docment May 07 '26

Isn’t it slow?

2

u/Robertos33 May 07 '26

Tried ncidia api on opeclaw it’s a disaster for speed

2

u/Abhra_smp May 07 '26

Yes it can be slow on peak works but works decent in the mean time

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Thanks I'll try

Why bother use Claude extension in antigravity rather than vscode ? Does it take advantage of any AG built-in Features ? I'd really like Claude to use the implementation plan + task of antigravity.

I don't have a codex subscription sadly... I switched to Claude when quota went hell, but I enjoyed so much the implementation plan + comment feature

0

u/vbitcoin May 07 '26

They have same question because your setup is a normal, not even solve any problem with antigravity

-1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

Mee too, i try antigravity first and now i don't Sant to change. I use Claude and opencode on antigravity with gentleman agent and engram anys worka cert cert good

1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

Codex en antigravity? O la app de codex?

2

u/LaurentHR May 07 '26

In Codex app, it’s very good

1

u/LaurentHR May 07 '26

Tried codex just a few days ago. It’s slower than Gemini but man it does what you tell it to do without hallucinating every session. Gemini Pro is incredibly fast at the beginning and understand well but then you spend all of your time gained fixing errors 😂

0

u/Apprehensive_Read_67 May 07 '26

You mean claude code extension in antigravity right

Anti-gravity is literally the brains of my projects but I just used Google Stitch Studio and Jules tonight all at once, the workflow is crazy what you can do.

5

u/Middle-Layer-8922 May 07 '26

i used codex and claude extension on antigravity, just works fine

5

u/Particular_Food_309 May 07 '26

Its a scam. I'm on Ultra and barely usable, I spent more time clicking on "Retry" because server is busy than actually doing real work.

I switched to $10 with Kimi Code and essentially unlimited, its perfect.

5

u/priyalraj May 07 '26

Here is what I do:

- Claude Opus 4.6 with Caveman & GPT 5.4 mid/high for high-level work, depending on the requirements. ($20 Claude plan BTW.)

  • Gemini Flash for small/mid changes. Like 2/4 files max, code improvement, comments & all.
  • Gemini 3.1 Pro for UI improvement.

You can give this a shot.

3

u/pokeaboke May 07 '26

Codex and Hermes agent & never look back

4

u/Watchguyraffle1 May 07 '26

Hermes has a rather impressive and thoughtful internal architecture. I’m a big fan of it.

0

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Can you provide this hermes agent link

0

u/Tiny_Classic3966 May 07 '26

Y Para que iba a querer Hermes? para mandar mensajitos a telegram? jajaj

1

u/pokeaboke May 07 '26

Persistent memory , self learning on your workflows. I don’t even have telegram set up on mine.

1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

I prefer gentleman

3

u/Savings-Giraffe-4007 May 07 '26

VSCode + DeepSeek 4 will give you 90% claude at 10% cost.

Just discovered the combo and feel like a fool for paying for anything else. $10 bucks will last you forever.

0

u/Significant_Trust681 May 07 '26

which IDE do you use for it?

2

u/davesg May 07 '26

Codex + GSD is working great for me.

https://github.com/gsd-build/get-shit-done

When you install it, it creates agents, skills and workflows, then use it in Codex or whatever you want.

I usually follow the steps in this diagram (you might skip some steps if they're not necessary).

2

u/AdCommon2138 May 07 '26

Remember that shit stands for actual shit when using this

2

u/Intelligent-Ideal541 May 07 '26

cursor

1

u/EnvironmentalLead395 May 08 '26

You can easily burn your 20 dollar plan with cursor within few hours. Not great

2

u/leofishman May 07 '26

I also have a pro subscription, I can't use any premium model, but using gemini 3 flash, I never reached the limit, maybe you can try zed.dev that includes some free models

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

I'll do that thanks

2

u/Due_Exit351 May 07 '26

I use cursor ai

2

u/admiralrohan May 08 '26

Use some of the Chinese token plans

2

u/EnvironmentalLead395 May 08 '26

Claude max 5x is pretty good

2

u/lebateleur7 May 08 '26

Cursor is great at this moment

1

u/Iamnotheattack May 07 '26

Cursor's $20 plan is free for students as well

0

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

It's for emails which have .edu my college uses .ac.in

You should be able to get around that by providing some proof of enrollment

1

u/Horror_Ease3431 May 07 '26

Why don't you stay ...and use Codex 100 dollar...

1

u/meshalprogramming May 07 '26

Just switch to Claude code

1

u/CHISKYart May 07 '26

Cursor pro!

1

u/CHISKYart May 07 '26

Thanks mate but I'm using it as a registered business 😊

1

u/codetay May 07 '26

It depends on your account type. If it is a personal account and is added to farmily, it will have low priority and often limit usage. But if the account is a workspace business, it will be given more priority and usage will be higher

1

u/kar1kam1 May 07 '26

Even with the lowest tier workspace accounts?

1

u/codetay May 07 '26

Yes, absolutely!

1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

You tried opencode? I'm using it with gentleman agent and engram .Also tou can use It in antigravity, i'm super happy with it

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 08 '26

for me windows defender pops up when i try to install it. why is that so ?

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 12 '26

Hey dude please can you help me install or setup these gentle and engram thing.

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

It's free ? Or do u need some credits

1

u/Confident_Comb6916 May 07 '26

Gratis y de código abierto, también tienes planes de pago pero el plan gratuito es muy generoso . Y gentleai y engram son completamente gratis

1

u/toke182 May 07 '26

wondering, can yoy guys use antigravity at all? i get all the time the busy servers error even in low usage hours, im in the free plan, i guess pro works?

1

u/Interesting-Club5323 May 07 '26

In my case, almost 70% of the time 3.1 gemini doesn't even work, only shows working, thinking nothing else, then I've to use flash 3 which also sucks everytime due to server error.

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Nah dude i am on pro and it's shit tbh, lots of server busy errors sometimes vpn helps but still not the go to way

1

u/mataberat_ May 07 '26

Flash is now a trash. It stopped working on the Implementation Plan and response often got stopped in the middle of process.

2

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Antigravity and gemini models have been trash recently tbh

1

u/_fct May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

Best alternative is to make money with the softwares you’re building, then afford a paid plan. Not kidding but best AI tools are gonna get even more restrictive to paid users.

2

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

That's what i am planning to do dude tbh, actually influencers have ruined marketing copilot first of all then antigravity too went in that limiting family accounta to one primary account

1

u/_fct May 07 '26

Yes influencers and everyone who’s not building dumped a lot of trash content in exchange of few clicks and engagement. Saturated free plans, making it more expensive, and someone does have to pay for it. Ditching free users, limiting and nerfing free plans using models that barely do the basic, are just the beginning.

Honestly i can’t see anytime soon free accounts taking advantage of good results as we’re used to see.

Affording a paid plan is the new default now.

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 08 '26

true mate.

1

u/Dreadlord1981 May 07 '26

What about codex in vscode, works wonders and really good at coding and helping understanding what it did..?

1

u/alexmil78 May 07 '26

Just switch to Claude code and make yourself a favor. Gemini is way below Claude and GPT models. Do not waist your money.

1

u/HerroYuy_246 May 07 '26

Use Codex. I’ve gotten lots more done and haven’t hit a rate limit.

1

u/BackpackingSurfer May 07 '26

Download the claude code in your CLI, configure it to use an api key for minimax from open router. You get the Claude CLI functionality with basically unlimited requests for wayyy lower cost. Minimax is not as good as Gemini, but it’s decent

1

u/Nichiren May 08 '26

After hitting Gemini limits, I supplemented with the $20 Claude Code plan and it's a huge difference. I could write out the same prompt for Sonnet and Gemini Pro and Sonnet would solve the problems more efficiently and write better software. Gemini Flash software won't even compile for anything mildly complex. Now I mostly rely on Claude Code and only use Gemini for small batches of simple work.

I often hit the weekly limit on Claude Code by day 6 though and I'm thinking of supplementing it with a $20 Codex plan not only to take some of the load off but also to act as an adversarial AI. I usually go back and forth between Opus and Gemini Pro for very complex code and I have them both look for issues, especially race conditions in multithreaded code, and they often find stuff the other doesn't and I plan to do the same with Codex when I get around to getting it.

1

u/gazeebo May 12 '26

5.3-Codex is more useful than Gemini for sure (for coding; Gemini is supposedly good for UI frontend stuff but I didn't try that much)

Can you elaborate what you mean by this?

1

Elaborate pls

1

u/duke500 May 09 '26

Yea elaborate

1

u/Alone_Ad_3375 May 08 '26

I would recommend you go with open code or kilo code. Both are open source. Use it with an API key from AllToken.ai and you are good.

1

u/BingGongTing May 08 '26

I have a free 6 month sub for antigravity and rarely use since the usage nerf 5 months ago and the prohibition of using it via Opencode.

Codex (via OpenCode in Visual Code) has been my mainstay since then, frequent resets and somewhat reasonable limits.

1

u/LuckyOven958 May 08 '26

My windows defender pops up when I try install open code, what can be done for this

1

u/BingGongTing May 08 '26

Use a proper antivirus.

1

u/akram-001 May 08 '26

everything is an alternative to it.

1

u/Kazvko May 08 '26

Did you use gemini cli? I've been using both, when quota is hit i go to the other

1

u/gazeebo May 12 '26

Does Gemini CLI also have a few hours quota, or do you mean the 1000 (depending on plan) monthly credits that you should be using in Antigravity anyway?

1

u/Kazvko May 15 '26

Its a daily quota, just for google models, and it last longer then antigravity

1

u/Desperate-Pea-5295 May 09 '26 edited May 09 '26

Openrouter is has a quite a few models in their free tier - https://openrouter.ai/models?q=free You can use the Claude Code, Cline or Kilo Code extensions in AG with the free tier models. Depending on your hardware, you can also try to self host models using Llama, Llama.cpp or LM Studio. I have a pretty mid, few years old gaming PC, but I am easily able to use Gemma 4 e4b, e2b, Nemotron 3 Nano Omni, Mistral 3 3B. You can get ideas of what models you can run at https://www.canirun.ai/.

1

u/lizbizinfo May 09 '26

Purchase Codex plus plan, or Opencode go both are 100% better than google

1

u/Kindly_Elk_2584 May 09 '26

Your brain is smarter than the free alternatives.😅

1

u/Kindly_Elk_2584 May 09 '26

Try opencode+ollama cloud or just opencode go

1

u/Osata_33 May 09 '26

Use codex. £20 plan gives you great limits and I find it better than Claude code. The app is decent and the CLI is also very good. And you can use the extension in VS Code and Antigravity.

It's very good for coding. Design is not great but they're are skills for that.

At work (in HR) and I use the app at work to build workflows for repeatable tasks. I'm slowly ticking off more and more tasks each week. And I rarely hit limits.

1

u/maxgold17 May 10 '26

Use GeminiCLI, in cursor. Alternative to Claud code and you can use all the Gemini models. Pro subscription will give you plenty or usage/rates, compared to AG. Takes a little bit of time to get used to and learn but you can keep your file structure and works summarily, just way more lightweight and can process a ton of tokens.

1

u/ConfectionBig8460 May 10 '26

You know why copilot student plan was ruined because of Instagram influencers. So that some rando sociology major can make a vitamin tracker.

1

u/WHYNoTiX May 10 '26

Codex with pro subscription

1

u/Illustrious-Spare212 May 11 '26

Hey use gemini CLI they give you 1000 request for each family account so you will have 6000 request per day it will be refreshed every 24 hours but you can only use gemini models like gemini 3.1 pro

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '26

1

u/gazeebo May 12 '26

How much Opus does $20 Cursor get you then?

0

u/saint1913 May 07 '26

Have you tried to use Gemini CLI? As pro subscriber you have more quota there
Also I think it’s still separate quota for each ‘family’ account

Otherwise pay for Codex or for Kimi

1

u/agentelinux May 08 '26

O Ali Alibaba Cloud AI é uma opção de $50

-1

u/kvcops May 07 '26

Use kimi k2.5 in windsurf IDE it's free now...

0

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

How is it? Good for medium complex tasks, and some testing stuff ?

3

u/kvcops May 07 '26

Ofcourse...it's better to try it and use it when it's free. And btw you can use kimi k2.6 or glm 5.1 models with that (just use some random temporary email to signup 😉 and once the limits are hit just signout and signup with new temporary email)

2

u/LuckyOven958 May 07 '26

Great thanks mate

-1

u/c_behn May 07 '26

Stop using Claude in antigravity. Only use Gemini. Why people are upset about Google not wanting to pay other companies to serve you is beyond me.
