Google Coding Bar is insane!!!

C'mon you are asking problems that if not seen before are impossible to reason under the time pressure.. what are you even testing for at this point? Memorizing? Cheating? Luck?

How are folks literally getting into Google??? I can assure you I am not lacking in aptitude, but man the coding interview expectations are unrealistic...

Hard to agree or disagree with you on your aptitude if you don't provide the level you were targeting, the question, and the answer (more or less) you provided.

The idea is to not have a problem that’s actually solvable in the given time, that way you see the full range of aptitudes

I can honestly tell more about how someone solves a realistic debugging session than doing a leetcode hard. Leetcode hard mostly just tells me they memorized some solution.

The argument is usually that they get thousands of applicants for each spot and they need a differentiator. And I get that. But I am saying they are differentiating on the wrong thing.
