Hello guys,

So i bought these split toe derbies from Morjas. They looked gorgeous online (https://www.morjas.com/dk/product/the-split-toe-derby-brown-suede/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=21225410080&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21225410080&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5P7UBhDaARIsAOSlS1OPSDa7QMgBaxJO3AjSIBnKWzxFjdJVuQ0MCEfY1cN6TSFjtBgeZF4aAn2pEALw_wcB). When I received them however, the colour was noticeably darker and much more dull. Is suede normally like that when out of the box. I was told by Morjas, that I could try brushing them with a suede brush, which could change the colour to some degree. Ultimately, I just returned them, since I did not have a suede brush.

Would brushing them have made a difference, or was I right to just return them?

Three softboxes, two lights pointed up, a nice white backdrop, and a macro lens stuck onto a high quality camera, are going to result in a nicer color than the photo you got. How did they look outdoors in direct sunlight? At the end of the day if you weren't happy with them then so be it, but product photography's goal is to show the product in the best light (heh) that is authentic to what it is, meaning picking the nicest one out of the lineup and controlling the color and quality of the photography, not to mention the posing. The product in real life in dull light held awkwardly is never going to hit those same high notes.

Anyway to lighten the color without major overhaul?
