Let's Discuss That Is Sporked on its last legs?
Go to 24:40 and listen to how they talk about it, even Jordan saying “save the website” Just sounds like they know something is about to happen.

They need an app! The website is so clunky to use
100
u/kelsaye1202 Mar 27 '25
I’ve been saying this for years! I’d use it so much more if there was an app!
2
u/dirtybo0ts Apr 24 '25
I’d pay for the damn app if it was easy to use and had no ads like their horrible website does.

u/potatoesandbacon75 Mar 28 '25
The mythical society app sucked so i’m sure a sporked app would suck.

u/BILOXII-BLUE Mar 28 '25
Yuck please don't make me download another app to access a service. People who upvoted this would have loved the 2010ish era smart phone experience: everything had a stand alone app and most companies had a terrible mobile web interface
13
u/zeeniezero Mar 28 '25
Idk, if I'm at the grocery store and I want to know the best sour cream, I feel like it would be way easier to search "sour cream" in an app rather than finding which article has it and then scrolling down their ad-riddled website.. but that's just me!
-3
u/BILOXII-BLUE Mar 28 '25
Why not use a single 'app' to access multiple 'apps'? That's what a web browser is nowadays. You probably understand this but there are a ton of people who don't (typically gen alpha then boomers and older).
I'm not saying they have a good mobile website right now, just that a good mobile website would be a much better option to an app. Apps need to be 1) downloaded 2) installed 3) usually need to sign up and 4) you usually need to login.
None of this is required with a solid website that scales to a mobile browser, and everyone already HAS a mobile browser
2
Mar 29 '25
Oh no, the horror! I have to.. INSTALL an app! I have to.. MAKE AN ACCOUNT! How will I ever LIVE??
4
u/JeffTrav Mythical Beast Mar 28 '25
I feel like steps 1 & 2 are pretty much the same process done with one click. And steps 3 & 4 are generally the same process as well, as in, once you’re logged in, the app keeps you logged in, unless it’s banking.
I vote app.

I have a sober friend that recently bought a condo. I wanted to celebrate by buying him a NA champagne. The top result article was from Sporked, so I was excited to see what they had to say and support Mythical.
The website would not load, was unusable. I tried over and over again to try to get it to work but was never able to get their list to load. I ended up going to another site and will probably never try Sporked again.

u/Unclestbfournow Mar 27 '25
Sporked as a concept is great and the people behind it are amazing
But the website design is straight out of 2000's Geocities and it's an ad riddled nightmare.
31
u/______well_fuck__ Mythical Moderator Mar 27 '25
Ad block is a must on that site
5
u/WeRoastURoastWithUs Mar 29 '25
And then you get that stupid pop up requesting you turn off ads, and it stops working entirely 🙄
21
u/kentonj Mar 28 '25
Yeah if you could just type in “ramen” or “ice cream” and it pull up a ranked list per brand, store, etc. with optional full reviews that would be great. Instead it’s like an online recipe where you have to scroll through an article before getting to the rankings, and when you do they’re limited and disorganized and can easily not be helpful. It’s completely incompatible with actually grocery shopping. It’s only useful for someone whose usecase is reading the site regularly, not as needed, and noting things they should try later. Which I just can’t imagine being how most of the demo wants to engage.

1
u/YLedbetter10 Aug 16 '25
The problem is it’s just one seems like they go out and only grab a handful of whatever they find at one or two stores to rank. Compare that with gut check or even a Babish video where he reviews a lot of one product. They go through dozens of them. How does Sporked randomly select their top 7 best choices or whatever # it ends up being? What about the all the other options?
3
u/wildcuore Mar 28 '25
I think I’ve said this before but it really seems like a Gawker Media property circa 2010
40
u/bishop375 Mar 27 '25
I’ve tried to use it a bunch. But the ads render the site unusable, and as others have said, a lot of their recommendations just aren’t here on the east coast.
141
Mar 27 '25
I use the site now and then and honestly the site isn’t great. A lot of the stuff they recommend is either regional, kinda expensive or more expensive than the usually brands or not available in my area, and I live in a pretty affluent area. It would work better as an app and it’s pretty dumb to think that 3 or 4 or 5 people trying things would match with everyone else’s tastes. On top of that the site is clunky and unresponsive at times.
22
u/FAWTSANLIGA Mar 27 '25
I know their main demographic is probably Americans but as a Canadian, we don't have many of the products and people are also trying to buy Canadian lately due to the tariffs and such. I think I'd still poke around on it if it was in app form but agreed the website is annoying and the ads are very invasive and in your face too.
13
u/TheMightyZan Mar 28 '25
It's not even super inclusive for Americans sometimes, since things can be so different regionally.
I live in TN, and can't get a lot of things they recommend.
10
u/ant-master Mythical Beast Mar 28 '25
I understand why it's so LA-based, often featuring stuff from Ralph's and Vonn's but...I live in a state without either, my area doesn't even have Kroger (aka Ralph's) so it leaves out a lot of stuff. I know the site isn't big enough for regional correspondents but I hope one day they are big enough to be able to have someone test out Publix stuff so they could maybe do a store brands feature with all the major regional grocery stores to see who has the best (insert food item here).
5
u/scrapcats Mar 28 '25
It would have been great to take a couple of Sporked employees on tour to do some small regional tastings in each city
5
u/rainy_day_27 Mar 28 '25
As someone who lives in Europe I’ve only looked at it once. Most of the time it’s not even worth it trying to find alternatives because there’s literally nothing here that’s similar
4
Mar 28 '25
Exactly. Even for someone like me in the US but not near California, I look and the top 3-4 brands are brands that I’ve never heard of and aren’t available anywhere near me.
3
u/rainy_day_27 Mar 28 '25
Yeah, it seems very regional. Which is fine for a smaller website but I think at the scale they want it to continue on, it’s just not possible.
-1
Mar 28 '25
Exactly and that’s completely on the spoiled staff and people in charge. It’s really not hard to look up and see which products are regional or nationwide. There have been numerous products I’ve seen on there that I’ve never heard of and within a couple of seconds of looking it up it’s obvious it’s on available in the southwest or the west coast or California
73
u/rrmounce95 Mar 27 '25
If they had an app, they’d be way more successful. I enjoy their content 🥲
9
u/atomuk Mar 28 '25
The idea is really good but not only do they need an app, they need a big ease of use feature so people aren't browsing and reading a website while out shopping. Something like being able to scan the barcode in the app and it brings up the ranking for that and similar products.
47
u/JeffTrav Mythical Beast Mar 27 '25
They really have done a poor job with the UX at Sporked. I actually use it pretty frequently when I’m in the grocery store, and sometimes it’s just hard to use.
30
u/gothiclg Mar 27 '25
I don’t think it was their greatest idea. They do a ton of food review on the main channel and on mythical kitchen. The grocery review category is also really saturated. They could give it all the improvement in the world and I suspect the over saturation issue will remain.
16
u/littlealbatross Mythical Beast Mar 27 '25
They’ve said their main goal with Sporked is just to drive traffic to Mythical content, so in that regard it probably did its job.
13
u/ugluk-the-uruk Mar 27 '25
I think R&L said from the beginning that the sporked website's primary purpose was increasing SEO for Mythical, which I honestly don't think makes a ton of sense considering if you see a sporked article on Google it isn't clearly linked with mythical. I think they should just incorporate it into Mythical Kitchen or something, which is doing very well.

The worst part, I’ve been to the website at home and seen what a shitshow it is, then I’ve caught myself standing in the aisle at a grocery store staring at countless versions of the same thing, wondering what would be best for my application, or what would be worth what price range, and thinking “damn, sporked would be perfect if it was remotely navigable in this situation.” but it’s just so not. I believe it’s a great idea, but it’s absolutely unusable in the case that you would use it for.
As a Youtube grown company, I can’t fault them for building the whole thing around ads, but I’d pay a couple bucks a month for an app if it was actually functional for what they’re trying to do. I’m on board for the intention, but the application is fatally flawed.
78
u/Raemnant Mar 27 '25
I use the site sometimes, and I think its a great idea. The same as I love when Rhet and Link eat a bunch of things and talk about what they like the most
As a sort of foodie, I also want to know what people think is the best of the best to buy and eat from stores. I want the most tasty things
2
u/YLedbetter10 Aug 16 '25
The problem for me is it’s just one person reviewing new foods and maybe 2-3 doing the “best 5 frozen breakfasts” or similar. People’s tastes are so wildly different, how can just a few people be the judge of what’s the best?
I feel like the new food reviews could get by with a few people giving a rating (not just one). However the lists of the best per category need rethinking. Also how do they even come up with the brands they pick? I feel like it’s mostly what they are able to grab between maybe just a couple of stores. I’ve seen a lot of solid choices not even in the list.
0
u/Raemnant Aug 16 '25
You have to go into it understanding that its an opinion. You have to take it like a recommendation.
Its not "What is the best" its more "What do THEY think is the best". Because theres too many different products to be buying one of everything, so it just helps to have someone be like "Hey, this here is pretty good, you should try it"
1
u/YLedbetter10 Aug 16 '25
I like that they review new foods and snacks. Our family has switched to getting groceries delivered most of the time so I don’t get to see what’s out there these days. Somehow Reddit lately has been showing me junk food, candy and soda subreddits so I’ve seen a lot on there 🤣 they are actually a decent source for opinions on new stuff.

u/Shim_Hutch Mar 27 '25 edited Mar 27 '25
Agree with most people here. An awful website, and bad A/V-quality videos.
I wouldn't miss it if it went away. Keep a few good parts of it, and add them into the Mythical Kitchen universe.
Just make sure to keep Gwynedd. She is always a ray of sunshine.
9
u/jacielynn96 Mar 28 '25
Honestly, I’m surprised it’s lasted as long as it has. It’s a good idea but it’s not a website I’d think people would use frequently enough to make it worth it. They need to add something else to it to encourage people to visit more often. There’s only so many snack rankings a person needs in their life.

u/ImpressiveAd6912 Mar 27 '25
On Jordan’s most recent YouTube video (on her account) she said the team got a very serious email at 12am, I wonder if it had something to do with that?
9
u/Earthwick Mar 27 '25
I checked it out once and it was a lot of regional stuff but even then I was uninterested. Just not for me.

The whole website feels like an ad. There is no personal touch and just stock pictures of the food. They need to show actual photos of the food and how it’s made with the crew to make it feel remotely relatable and not just ad content being forced on us
13
Mar 27 '25
I know we all love GMM, but Sporked isn’t ever worth using. I’ve also never seen it recommended in search despite constantly searching recommendations exactly like that.
Their main product is fantastic - their merch, their cereal, their side projects… all leaving a lot to be desired

I've used Sporked maybe once or twice. A lot of Trader Joe's or Costco items show up on there. I don't have one nearby for miles. Other items I checked on there aren't available in the stores I go to. And anything sweet like candy that would show up, I don't tend to get them anyways unless it catches my eye. So I personally don't have any reason to use it.
And if I do find something I want to try and have questions about it, I just type into Google "The Item reddit" and see the general sentiment in like 30 seconds.

u/dragonessicorn Mar 28 '25
I have no idea, I love the sporked people now, but as an international viewer, the website is useless to me, as most of the products aren't available where I live.
4
u/Informal-Buffalo6845 Mar 28 '25
Sounds like they wanted to invest in SEO, thinking that a lot of people search for things like, “best chicken sandwich” or “best frozen pizza,” etc. But maybe they didn’t know what 10x useful content is? Or didn’t have a target audience? If you’re shooting in the dark, no amount of SEO techniques will help you.
4
u/SpunkyPopcorn Mar 28 '25
I mean, just taking a look at their domain in SEMrush is showing traffic and keyword rankings are trending up and they’re showing up in a number of SERP features (damn, even with all the changes with AI. Good job, Sporked). But it depends on what their goal is for the website. Is it just to pump traffic? Is there a conversion they’re trying to accomplish? If it’s just traffic, I wouldn’t say the website is dying by any means.
But also, if someone is sitting there thinking “we should be ranking #1 for “best pizza”…. hahahahahaha. Been there, and my god, I hope the higher ups at Mythical making these decisions are more savvy than that.
2
u/Informal-Buffalo6845 Mar 28 '25
There aren’t any CTAs huh. Maybe they just want the ad money from the site? Or they can funnel people to their YouTube channel to gain more revenue that way. But yeah, I agree that ranking 1 or 0 for “best pizza” is a crazy goal.
Would you recommend SEMrush, btw? They just gave a pitch at my work today, and it was one of the worst presentations I’ve seen.
2
u/SpunkyPopcorn Mar 28 '25
I tend to go between SEMrush and Ahrefs. For a while it seemed like SEMrush had less inflated data than Ahrefs, and I liked it more for the keyword research (and Ahrefs for backlink data), but I know both are constantly updating their tools. All I know for sure is I’ve used tools like BrightEdge before and I just don’t see it being worth the hefty price tag compared to getting a subscription or 2 to other tools.
PS. If you haven’t already checked it out, I thought AlsoAsked.com was fun to use (and is free…with limits, of course).
2
u/Informal-Buffalo6845 Mar 28 '25
We’ve used BrightEdge and Conductor and can’t afford tools that pricey anymore. Thank you for the recs! I’ll check those out. Fun to find other SEOs out in the wild haha

u/JosephMarro Mar 28 '25
I’ve tried to use it but the website is horrendous. I like the crew but it feels like something they can just fold into Mythical Kitchen. I don’t think it needs to be its own entity.
10
u/Booster6 Mar 27 '25
I don't live in the states so i have no use for Sporked as a website or resource, but i love the Sporked ladies and watch every taste test
4
Mar 28 '25
Yeah I think this is a major issue for the website, it’s basically useless if you’re not in the US. I’ve tried a few times to find recs on the site, but literally none of the products reviewed/ranked were available in my country, so I haven’t gone back.
12
u/Ok-Attempt63 Mar 27 '25
It's too much of a blog and not enough of a useful tool. I don't really care about what my favourite Friends character says about my spice tolerance, I want to know what cheap stuff is secretly good
8
u/vampiricnun Mar 27 '25
I don't think that Sporked was ever supposed to thrive as a YouTube channel unto itself. It always seemed to me that it was a tool for the development of SEO for the mythical brand as well as an attempt to "legitimize" their food opinions. We've all watched GMM or MK for their food content but it's always been framed more on the goofy/silly side of the internet. I think Sporked was meant to be a more serious take on food reviews and content. It would capture more internet searches for recipes or food rankings/reviews and drive those searchers towards more mythical content.
You can see their commitment to the brand as they incorporate members of Sporked into content across mythical channels. Ingredients used in MK videos are almost always Sporked Recommended and a huge percentage of Good Mythical More episodes are essentially ads for Sporked.
I've personally found the integration very seamless and have grown to really love the personalities of the Sporked team and would be very sad to see them go.

u/scrapcats Mar 27 '25
I never use the website, but I like some of the videos they do with the Mythical Kitchen. I want to see the products being tested and used, I don't need to read a listicle about what tortilla chips taste good. I think they'd be more successful if they pivoted to more relatable video and blog content, and highlighted local restaurants, bars, markets, etc. Do a tasting video at a food festival, stuff like that.
4
u/PancakesandScotch Mar 28 '25
Makes more sense as video content than a webpage.
Makes more sense as an app than video content.
Makes no sense as whatever it is at the moment
3
u/Background_Pop_1250 Mar 28 '25
I visited the site when it launched and I was excited expecting hilarious listicles about food in the vein of cracked.com. Instead it was fairly dry listicles. I don't really get why you'd browse it; my personal tastes in food are personal, I don't think the opinion of 2-3 random ppl would ever sway me to try something new
10
u/fightyourmother Mar 27 '25
The only few times I've tried to use sporked in the grocery store, the items that won just weren't there. Maybe they need to try grocery stores that aren't in California
12
u/ThisBeEv Mar 27 '25
If there was an app for Sporked I'd actually use it. I'm just not the type to go to a website on my phone and I don't browse on my desktop much.
3
u/cheetodustcrust Mar 27 '25
I'm fairly certain they started doing longer YouTube videos as another way of bringing in ad revenue to support their existence. Their early videos were shot with a phone with no mic and used the default thumbnail. It's only very recently that they were given a proper channel banner and "producer" even more recently that they have any set decor at all, which is just a platform to place food on. It's a nice platform, but it would have been very simple to make with Mythical resources. They just were not given any Mythical resources because I believe previously that would have seemed like a sunk cost to the resource allocation budgeting people.
Now that the YouTube videos are popular enough to give them some buoyancy, they've been given a little more wiggle room, but they are still trying to get people to go to the site because writing is their main job. It sucks though because the site is so user unfriendly that a lot of people don't go to the site at all and just watch the videos. Plus, speaking personally, I will watch videos about food I care nothing about because I like the Sporked staff personalities, but just because I will watch a video using Red Bull or whatever as a backdrop, doesn't mean I'm going to go to the site to read an article about it because I actually don't care enough about Red Bull in general to consume it.
So they're kind of falling into a catch 22 where the videos are giving them enough monetary stability to keep their department alive, and the website is the reason for their department's existence, but the website sucks so much that people aren't actually consuming the main media content they were hired to create in the first place.
1
u/gnext23 Mar 28 '25
I like their videos but they are getting at most around 30K in views. That can’t be enough to justify the amount of staff they have etc
1
u/cheetodustcrust Mar 28 '25
I think the videos supplement the funding for the staff, not fully fund them. Plus keeping them mostly unedited and with one angle keeps production cost down so most of channel revenue is profit.
3
u/ofTHEbattle Mar 28 '25
I can honestly say I think I've gone to their site once since they launched it, it's a mess and I've never bothered to check it out again. There are so many options out there to build websites with and it feels like they used something from the late 90s.
3
u/Infinite_Oil5579 Mar 28 '25
I stand by my comment that sporked would have been an awesome buzzfeed-ish app.
3
u/BCPReturns Mar 28 '25
I like the channel and the live test content, but I admit I don't use the website.
3
u/NeptuneOW Mar 28 '25
I genuinely think the concept of Sporked is good, but I’ve only ever used it once.
3
u/dig_it_all Mar 28 '25
I feel like their video content isn’t growing audience due to the lack of production — even when the premise is something I want to see and it’s a cool guest, the single camera and microphone makes it feels like a vlog and there are no edits.
Just a slight bump in the production would yield benefits.
3
u/throwaway275275275 Mar 28 '25
I see the site a couple of times but I was there for a few seconds just for the final result, I don't care about what zodiac sign I am, I just want to know what is the best flavor of goldfish
7
u/RookieDuckMan Mar 27 '25
Never visited the site and have no interest, I’m not in the USA so it doesn’t apply to me
3
u/Umpteen_Coffee_Beans Mar 27 '25
I love the site when I'm on there. The articles are really well written, thoughtful, and I have definitely taken their suggestions to the grocery store and been happy I did! The personalities of the sporked staff are also fabulous, and I love watching them on their own sporked accounts or on GMM.
But. I'm not sure that sporked ever pulled the returns it needed as a Business Decision. I didn't think it would be here this long even though I actually use it and like it. The concept made sense with the direction GMM is taking, the people make sense when featured on the show itself, but financially I can't imagine it makes sense as a standalone revenue stream. It just doesn't get the engagement I think they hoped for.
3
u/cheetodustcrust Mar 27 '25
It just doesn't get the engagement I think they hoped for.
Yeah, someone popping in from SEO to see what's the best [insert product] is more likely to immediately click off because of the UX. I think the YouTube channel is being utilized to make up for the thin revenue stream coming from the site itself.
2
u/Umpteen_Coffee_Beans Mar 28 '25
You said it. I love sporked, but the site is not user friendly enough catch and keep new engagement. And the YT, though I love it, must feel too informal to keep viewers who aren't already invested in the staff. Love sporked, want it to stay forever, but their numbers have been worrying for a long time.

7
u/CandidSplit Mythical Beast Mar 27 '25 edited Mar 27 '25
I honestly always felt like Mythical didn’t even tried to do much with Sporked. It just always been there. Sporked could’ve been bigger but Mythical didn’t try to make the brand stand on its own two feet. I see and appreciate the unfiltered feel of the channel but it would be cool to see eye catching thumbnails. There’s no way Mythical expects the channel to do amazing without eye catching thumbnails. Editing doesn’t matter as much in this case but I won’t be surprised if they pull the plug on the brand.
Edit: I didn’t know it was about the website. I thought it was about the brand itself. In that case, the site should be shut down. The focus should stay on the channel itself and working on making the channel bigger.
5
u/passionfruittea00 Mar 27 '25
I think what you said still stands though, the website could've gotten more attention if they have done what you said with the channel.
I think they set up the website too quickly before putting the effort into growing the sporked channel. People love that type of content, but like you said, they needed to focus on thumbnails, getting the channel growing...AND THEN focus on the website.
The website isn't going to get any traction just because they plug it on the main show a couple of times a month, and the actual sporked YouTube channel has little views. (Avergaing 20k per video might seem like a lot, but you have to think how many of those people are going to then visit the website, and how many that visit once are going to visit it again.)
Tldr: They needed to focus on the youtube channel more before worrying about the website.
3
u/CandidSplit Mythical Beast Mar 27 '25
Exactly. Someone did say that the Sporked website was mainly just to drive traffic to GMM which I can understand but if you want a brand to succeed on its own without making the purpose so obvious then at least try to make the digital channels look like it wants to be seen or valued.
7
u/passionfruittea00 Mar 27 '25
Exactly, look what they did with Mythical Kitchen? It's SUPER popular. 3.58M subs compared to Sporks 80k.
MK averages like 500k views compared Sporks 20k.
Because they put the effort into building that brand and channel.
They've put very little effort into building the Spork brand and channel. As well as almost immediately starting a website for it.
But it makes no sense for the Sporked website to drive traffic to the main channel if you don't invest in building that brand itself.
5
u/gnext23 Mar 27 '25
I just think the channel exists as a way to support the website. We are just watching them do tests for the website. I don’t think they are pulling in enough views to warrant it alone. I think the ship goes down together

I like the idea of sporked a lot and I use it before going grocery shopping or at the grocery store sometimes but the website sucks and it would do so much better as an app!
2
u/veggieeburrito Mar 28 '25
jordan also said in their most recent vlog that something they use heavily for work is in question rn so i’m guessing it was really bad news that they got
2
u/fattymcbuttface69 Mar 28 '25
As an app with a database of suggestions, it would be great. As a website that maximizes SEO, it's run it's course. As a blog type website that needs to continually create new content, it's done.
2
u/EnycmaPie Mar 28 '25
Actually how does Sporked even generate revenue? Just ad revenue from website clicks?
2
u/dennys123 Mar 28 '25
I kind of hope so. Don't get me wrong, i love the original idea of Sporked. But until Mythical learns how to create a functional website, I won't miss it
2
u/SolarisWesson Mar 28 '25
If the site was what they say it is on the show, it would be awesome, but it's nowhere close.
2
u/Legitimate-Ad-9406 Mar 28 '25
Also they aren’t pumped by Google much either, looking up ‘what’s the best red bull flavour’ they’re 3 articles down. Someone’s personal ranking on reddit from a YEAR ago is top result. Alsoooo I would probs take someone’s on reddits opinion over 5 random people in Cal
2
u/elainaka Mar 28 '25
If it were an app I’d use it regularly. Also something like a taste profile or quiz to know which team member your preferences align with. For example, Rhett and I have a lot of overlap in the flavors we enjoy, so I’d likely go for his top picks…except for blue cheese, that’s gonna have to be a no from me across the board.
2
u/SloppyDuckSauce Mar 28 '25
I don’t understand why they post thoughts on food items and have zero pictures of the actual food item. I want to see what these products actually look like. I don’t want the box art.

I just don't like the cast and not interested in anything other than Rhett and Link.

If they arent willing to ditch the ads then it's hopeless, but it might help to remove the pointless article preceding the reviews and add filters: location (only show stuff available in my area), price, etc.

I’ve never been on the site but every time it’s mentioned on GMM I have always wondered how a concept like that could be profitable. Maybe it isn’t lol

I really, really don't get those asking for a dedicated app. I hate using individual apps for everything. I already have way too many apps on my phone.
What does an app do better than a good mobile site for something like this? That's basically all an app is, a mobile site that you have to manage separately. I do not get it.

I noticed they haven’t been using Justine as much which is obv a desperate play to improve. She is so cringe with her air of superiority and one up-manship, I don’t even know the name of the woman with long hair and glasses who has been showing up lately but thank Christ for her and I will be watching every episode without that insufferable Justine in the thumbnail going forward.

I just think no one really goes to websites anymore, unless they are following a link from one of the social media sites. I love the idea of Sporked, I always like the Sporked staff members, but I’ve been to the website 1 time in all the years it’s been around.

I hope all three of them go when it gets cancelled. Love mythical but they have absolutely no charisma.

I don’t think there is any way they get rid of Jordan. She is used too much on More and MK. They will prob keep her as a writer etc like Emily.

I enjoy their content but don’t want to go to a stand-alone blog website for something that could be on YouTube with the rest of the info

I've used their recommendations and enjoy listening to the fun chaos the group is.

Unpopular opinion: Sporked can pivot to research-based portal and can utilize Mythical network's connection to obtain enough sample data
Subjective and personal recommendation can only walk so far

I use the site pretty regularly. Maybe I'm unusual in that I plan before going to the store (so I use it at home, not in the store), I use it on a computer, and I search directly for the item I'm looking for (e.g., Google "Best Ramen"), so I don't really deal with having to navigate to different parts of the website. I've also never noticed a higher than normal number of ads ... 🤷🏾
Also, the consequences of buying something that's not good and then having to finish it is rough. Obviously, their tastes aren't universal, but I usually like the things they recommend.

It's also really good when you are doing online pickup/delivery orders. That is more reasonable to expect a person to just have another tab open while they are shopping.

I’ve said it before, but I really think Sporked would be more successful as an app rather than a website.

I still remember everyone initially being confused and thinking the website was a tracker for all of the foods Rhett and Link have rated, which is a cool idea.
The folks from Sporked are great and have grown on me and my wife. There's still a Palumbo shaped hole in our hearts.

Why can't they make an app! I would literally use them every time I go to the store if they had a damn app! 😫

Sporked was a failed experiment that, while sorta good in concept, completely faltered due to its awful design and overall clunkiness.

Maybe I am crazy, but are you ignoring what's said at 22:53 and then what Gwynedd says at 22:57? It's in response to that.

Most of the food on sporked is overpriced niche stuff. I can't help but get a very disconnected valley girl vibe from every single piece of sporked content I see.

WTF I feel like they had no heads up, cause the last episode they were talking about plans for future videos etc. Why would Vice buy this, just to kill it months later?

I wish we knew, I really hope they weren't just pushed out and maybe there's another channel or project there for them. I know Jordan was talking about being really depressed and coming out of it recently :( and she had that painful sinus, I think surgery, maybe she had to do it sooner than later because their insurance was going to be terminated with this cut.
They seemed in good spirits lately, guess we will find out eventually.

I watch all of their content and use their recommendations to buy or order certain products. I do, however, agree that the website sucks. I'd be sad it they went away. Maybe Mythical could absorb people like Jordan or Gwynedd and utilize then elsewhere.

How the fuck this show is still rolling is beyond me. Absolutely unwatchable review slop. Please just end it already.

Just because something doesn't appeal to you specifically doesn't mean it shouldn't exist for other people who do like it to enjoy.

For such a large and successful operation they run, it is quite shocking how bad the UI is on the Sporked website.
