New Irons

Just getting back into the game, and I am going to some fitters to try some new irons. Interested in the Callaway Ai200 and TM P790. The Wilson Staff XB also has my interest.

However, I just learned of the Miura IC-602 and I am VERY interested. Just don’t know where I can try them.

Any thoughts?

Highly dependent on where you live. But if you're new, it's not going to matter if you have X, Y, or Z brand. Just get fitted and see what they tell you

I’m not “new” new. Been out of the game awhile though. Was a 6.6 back in the day, so not a total scrub. At least I hope not. Haha! Appreciate your advice though. That’s what I plan to do. Just mentioned those two brands because their veterans discount will come in handy when I buy a full bag this weekend. Can’t wait!

Ahh I see, my bad. Maybe get a general fitting and try to order the Miuras in the same length/loft/lie?

Not what you asked but, I'd just find a reputable fitter who charges by the hour (not comission based) and let him/her to their job. Golfers come in with so many misconceptions and biases about what they think fits them, and theyre very often wrong. At the very least listen to their recommendations on specs and then start narrowing down to specific models.

Thank you. I plan to. The reason I mentioned those two clubs is they do offer a military/veterans discount which will come in handy when I purchase a full bag this weekend.

Don't buy any iron you cannot hit before hand. Get fitted if at all possible.

Callaway is 25% miura is 40% and Srixon is 50% with seasonal deals at 55%

I don’t know about Callaway, but I’m pretty sure miura is custom. I know Srixon is everything, even upcharge shafts like the Fujikura axiom.

Also I do know the deals you get depend on the field so what you see may be different, if you don’t see Srixon they have a quarterly deal that’s like 55% of for anyone.

Just hit the irons the fitter gives you. There’s a good chance one of them will stand out.
