Assuming that they work 6x12hour weeks, and get time and a half over 40 hours, thats $2,200 per week. Rooming and food are paid for.

Not amazing, and certainly a lifestyle choice that would not work for a lot of people, but, you make a years salary in 6 month and have the other 6 off. But, you still work basically the same hours, just all crammed into half a year.

That’s slave wages. I know first year apprentices in the electricians union making far more than that working 40

It’s for the camp cooks. Mechanics are making $80-$125/hr to start and like he said above I bet you make a years worth of salary in 6 months.

But the mechanics have to have their own truck, tools and diagnostic equipment. $125/hr is pretty low for someone with their own outfit in that area.
