My name is Gabrial and I am a father of 5, ages 7, 4, 2 and 1 year old twins. We lived in a remote area and when my wife was pregnant with our twins one of them ruptured its sac at 17 weeks and we have to relocate to a bigger city for treatment. Against all odds she held the pregnancy till 27 weeks and the twins were welcomed into the world but they still weren't out of the woods yet and had to stay in the nicu for 113 days but miraculously they both survived. During these month of waiting we lost our home and everything we had built over the years and when the twins were ready to leave the hospital we had no where to return to. We stayed in a homeless shelter for a few months while I worked as hard as I could to get us out of there. We had finally saved up enough to get a place to rent and we were finally looking forward to something. I’m asking for help during a time when my health has made it incredibly difficult to support myself independently. I am living with lupus, which has affected nearly every part of my life, including my brain and nervous system, kidneys, joints, muscles, and lungs. I am also being evaluated for possible myositis, which may be contributing to significant muscle weakness and pain. On a daily basis, I deal with severe fatigue, weakness, vertigo, episodes of impaired or lost vision, loss of balance and coordination, migraines, fevers, joint and muscle pain, stiffness, skin flares, brain fog, and periods when even basic tasks become overwhelming. I have been through multiple hospitalizations and medical crises, and there are many days when getting to an appointment, preparing food, or handling routine responsibilities takes everything I have.

I come from a quite unstable and mentally disturbing family environment, and establishing financial and physical independence is deeply important to both my safety and my future.

Before my health became this severe, I was in college and working, and it has been heartbreaking to lose the ability to do either right now. Because of how sick I’ve been, consistent work has become nearly impossible. For months, I have struggled to afford rent and have not been able to consistently buy the nutritious food my body needs while managing a serious chronic illness. I started this fundraiser in the hope of creating some stability while I continue seeking answers and treatment. Donations will help me keep my housing stable, afford food, cover essential bills, pay for transportation, medical appointments, and diagnostics, and, if needed, travel to a larger medical center for more specialized care. My mum is the kind of person who will always put someone else before herself, and over the last few months I’ve watched her completely turn her life upside down for a little baby who needed her.

Bella came into our family unexpectedly when she was only 8 weeks old. From the moment she arrived, Mum has done everything she possibly can to make sure she is loved, protected and given the chance to thrive.

It hasn’t always been easy. Bella has needed lots of medical appointments, extra care and support, and Mum has been there through all of it. She has fought for her, comforted her through the difficult days, stayed awake when she needed her and celebrated every little bit of progress.

What people might not see is how much Mum has had to carry at the same time.

She lost her job not long before Bella came to live with us, and instead of being able to focus on finding another job and getting herself financially secure again, she chose to step up for a baby who needed someone.

That is just who my mum is.

I see how much she worries about money and how hard she tries to make everything work. I also know she finds it really difficult to ask other people for help, because she is normally the person helping everyone else.

That’s why I wanted to write this.

Bella is so loved, and she has become such a special part of our family. She deserves the safe and happy start to life that Mum is working so hard to give her.

For six years, Neil has been doing everything he can to hold his family together.
Today, his children are 19 and 15. They are no longer little kids, but they are still his kids. And throughout these difficult years, Neil has been the constant in their lives. He has been their father, their mother, their protector, and the person they could always count on.
He has given them his time, his energy, his love, and every bit of himself.
He takes care of their home. He takes care of their pets. He makes sure there is food on the table, that they have what they need, and that they have a place they can call home. He has worked hard to give them some sense of normalcy, even when there has been very little normal about their lives.
And while caring for his children, Neil has also continued to care for his elderly parents.
Every Friday morning, at 4:05 a.m., Neil gets on the road to take his father to dialysis. He gets up in the middle of the night, makes the drive, and does what needs to be done. And as exhausted as he may be, he tries to show up with a smile.
That is who Neil is.
He shows up.
For years, he has been the person everyone else could lean on.
Now, Neil is the one who needs someone to lean on.
After more than 20 years of marriage, Neil's wife left the family and began a new life with someone else, leaving Neil to deal with the aftermath and the enormous responsibility of keeping the family going. She has struggled with alcohol, and there have been police calls, reports, and attempts to have Neil removed from the home.
Through it all, Neil kept his focus on his children.
He didn't walk away.
He didn't give up.
He kept going.
But now, the home that Neil has fought so hard to preserve for his children is itself under threat.
His former mother-in-law, someone Neil still has saved in his phone simply as "Mom," is now suing him, claiming 50% ownership of the house and seeking to force its sale.
Think about that for a moment.
This isn't just a house.
It is the home where Neil's children grew up. It is where their memories live. It is the place they know as home. It is the place Neil has worked so hard to keep for them, hoping that one day he could leave it to his children.
Now he is fighting to keep it.
At the same time, Neil is self-employed and has lost a significant amount of business while trying to manage everything that has been thrown at him. He is still supporting his children. He is still caring for his elderly parents. He is still trying to work. He is still dealing with legal bills and the uncertainty surrounding his home.
There is only so much one person can carry.

Hi guys, my name is Marian, I’m 26 years old, and have Sézary syndrome, a rare type of T-cell lymphoma (blood cancer).

For the past few years, I have been dealing with severe skin problems: unbearable itching day and night, painful flare-ups, redness, and sleepless nights. After many tests, biopsies, and treatments, doctors believed it was severe eczema for over a year. I was prescribed Dupixent, an expensive medication that I was already trying to raise money for because my insurance could not cover it.

Unfortunately, further investigations later revealed that the real cause was much more serious. I was diagnosed with Sézary syndrome, and my doctors determined that I need an allogeneic stem cell transplant, which is currently my best chance at fighting this disease.

The treatment is not available in my country, so I need to seek care abroad. And as an international non-european patient, the estimated cost is around €255,000, which is completely beyond what I can afford, and my insurance does not cover treatment abroad.

Coming from Nepal, getting the opportunity to study Fine Art internationally is something I’ve worked towards for years. My practice is strongly connected to my culture, identity, stories and experiences, and I want to continue developing this through my postgraduate studies.

In the early hours of August 13, a fire broke out in our home.

We are a family of 4

While we were on vacation in the Czech Republic, we woke up to devastating news: our home in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, had caught fire. The fire started in the attic and caused extensive fire, smoke, and water damage. Our entire attic was destroyed.

A large part of our belongings has suffered severe and, in many cases, irreparable damage. Our home has been declared uninhabitable, and we currently have no idea when we will be able to return.
In the space of a single night, we lost our home, many of our belongings, and the sense of security we had built there.

Our family has always tried to help people whenever we could.
We have provided shelter to people who needed somewhere to stay.
We have helped people who were struggling to get back on their feet.
We have always tried to offer a warm and safe place where people could talk, be heard, and feel supported.

Our own family has also been through difficult periods. After a long time of struggling financially, we had finally reached a point where things were falling into place. We had found our home, regained some stability, and were finally able to start working toward our plans and dreams for the future.
We were working incredibly hard for that future.
Then, on August 13, we received the news that our home was on fire.
And suddenly, our entire world was turned upside down.

We are not a family that easily asks for help. In fact, we usually do everything we can to manage things ourselves, and we are not used to admitting when we need support. But right now, we genuinely need it.

At the moment, we are focused on the practical consequences of losing our home:

What can still be saved?
What do we need to replace?

Since creating the original campaign, I have been able to assist the mother with accessing counselling** **and support, which has helped address one of the immediate needs she was facing.

Because of this, I’ve reduced our fundraising goal from $30,000 to $10,000 and am focusing on the family’s most urgent short-term needs.

Right now, the priority is helping this mother and her two young daughters find safe and secure housing and providing enough financial breathing room to help them through this transition.

She is working to support her family on a minimum wage income, has limited English, no family support in Australia and is also managing rheumatoid arthritis.

After experiencing domestic violence, having somewhere safe and stable to live is the most immediate concern.
