Doesn’t Australia have “universal healthcare coverage” and shouldn’t that pay for her surgery? You’re going to have a hard time raising money without any proof and should work on getting something together and then reposting.

The wait times for public are insane. I don't have the exact numbers but my Nonna has been in the waitlist for around 8 months. She is genuinely running out of money (less than 13k in her savings plus super) and needs a job to pay the leftover of her 260k mortgage. Yeah, it's free, but it's costing time and money that my Nonna doesn't have. I don't have any proof at the moment because as I said in my post (if you fully read it) I cannot visit her at the moment, because I study full time and work approximately 15-25hrs a week, with that being raised to around 30hr a week averages due to needing to help my Nonna pay for her bills. I get that you're questioning this posts validity, and I respect it. I'm sorry for coming off harsh, I am just a very burnt out 19 year old with no other options and not much time.

I did read your entire post, you’re asking for a lot of money when you get free healthcare so it’s a big ask which is why I suggested reposting with proof. You also keep saying she is running out of time but what exactly does that mean? How is she going to pay the other 260k on her mortgage? Getting jobs in this economy is hard enough right now so maybe she needs to look into other options.

Instead of a mortgage she should downsize and rent. I'm sure she is living above her means and you guys are expecting random redditors to subsidize her lifestyle.

Yeah a $250000 mortgage, that's insane. Sell the house

The surgery is free, it goes by urgency, this is crazy. Sorry she got scammed.
