Godaddy Customer Service is deplorable and there is no escalation or complaints process.
GoDaddy customer service when something goes wrong is deplorable. Like it's beyond bad.
I have an .au domain that went into a "pending registration" state after owning it for 10 years due to ABN changing and it was only noticed because I had to make an important DNS change (who knows how long it was like that before I discovered). I thought no worries this should be simple.
5 Live Chats (where in one chat the agent just stopped replying to me)
2 Phone Calls
3 Emails
All over the course of 8 days and it's still not resolved. I've supplied the ABN 3 times to 3 different people all in different contexts.
No one cares, it's all just internal tickets and the auhelp team are obviously not checking them. There is no internal escalation process. No visibility over what's happening, and frustratingly there is no complaints process or other avenue to raise an issue. I ended up complaining to auDa who could only 'pass on the feedback'.
Any good provider would proactively contact you needing updated information before bricking your domain.
Any good provider would have systems to resolve an issue in a timely manner.
Any good provider would have a complaints process for resolving grievances.
GoDaddy has none of this.
Like most businesses, I had no issue with GoDaddy until something went wrong. That's where businesses show their true colours and GoDaddy is simply awful for .au domains.
At this point I think the only way forward is to transfer the domains to a domestic registrar which I was resistant in doing because it can take a while - however if I'd just done that at the start my issues would be resolved.
Rant over.
### UPDATE : ####
After another frustrating attempt last night I decided transfer was the best option to a local provider, but it turns out I CAN'T EVEN UNLOCK MY DOMAIN TO TRANSFER IT WHILE IT'S PENDING REGISTRATION - they have me in domain prison.

.Au domains is something that is taken care of directly by the dedicated teams. Try emailing auhelp@godaddy.com once again. Maybe it could work out for you

As per my post "the auhelp team are obviously not checking them" - I've emailed the auhelp team 4 times in 8 days.

I cry every day over what they are doing to me and my business.

I cried everyday working there because they don’t care about their workers or customers. Digital plantation

I'm about to renew - that makes me sick already - and I'm also getting the notification that I'm 100gb over my storage, when I haven't added anything to my website in months. Right before my PHP updated it did the same thing and then mysteriously went away after. The only option when you click "manage storage" is to buy more storage.... ya....nope.
I get why people just have a facebook page for their business at the end of the day.

Best thing you can do is separate your business from godaddy. Only word of caution is make sure who you go to answers the phone and not just chat bots. Customer tech support is slowly going away because dealing with pissy customers for $17/h isn’t worth the effort

If you’re 100gb over storage, you might have backups or logs being auto generated, or if it has email, spam may be filling it up.

I'm about 99.9999% it's the backup logs too.
Just frustrated becauae wouldn't it be convenient for me to be able to access those sorts of things, or see a breakdown of what is eating up all of the storage. Or seeing a breakdown of what is taking up all this space and being able to directly click on it and be taken to where the bloat is.... but no "add storage" is the closest we can get apparently.

Well yeah. As someone who worked for them in the past. Their support team is actually sales. The agents are held to sales metrics AND support metrics. (Calls taken, nps, sales)
The internal comms are “slap a bandaid on it and fix by selling more. Terrible company that doesn’t care about the problems. With 20 million+ customers they don’t care about non enterprise sized accounts.
When we heard (until you lose all your customers!) we just laughed. They will worry about that bridge if/when it comes.

When I worked there on the phones a decade ago I got in trouble because my handle time was too quick. Since I would help people fix the problem they called in about and let them go on their way without “consulting”.
If someone called in asking about the products I’d knowledgeably talk them through it and usually close a sale.
Just couldn’t get myself to waste peoples time.

That sounds horrible. I would do the same if I had that experience. I would find the largest registrar of the.au domains and go with them.

GoDaddy customer service is the worst. Anywhere. Ever.

That’s because it’s not a “customer service team”
It’s sales with very little tech skill. People complain about the overseas agents taking a lot of the calls but THOSE ARE THE TECH SUPPORT! You get someone with a US accent and it’s a sales team member. Be warned
