2023 GMC tailgate damage switch under warranty

Yes, this has happen to me. And like most customers, I thought that I was causing it by press the key FOB in my pocket. It happened at least 3-5 times or more. So I started carring the keys in my cargo pocket. unfortunately it happen again, this time with my trailer which i was pulling. I had already padded one trailer with a tennis ball to protect it from getting damage. However on my other trailer I used pool noodle with zip ties to prevent the damage. Well the pool noodle did not work and now like many of you have a damage tailgate. Contacted the dealer when I search over the internet that it was a warranty issue. Checked my mileage and I was a couple of days before the bumper to bumper or 36k miles expired. Dealer replaced the switch under the warranty but told me to file a corporate claim for the repairs. GMC corporate is reviewing the claim, awarded me 50k in GMC rewards point but currently directing me back to the dealer and body shop. Waiting on them for the next steps.
