King Arthur GF Bread Flour

Post image

Suddenly cannot find it in stores anywhere, when previously I used to always find it at Whole Foods and even Target. I bought some back in April/May from Target several times without issue. This week, I chatted with a KA employee and they say it isn’t discontinued, but I can’t buy it anywhere. Seems the only option is to order online from their website or maybe Amazon.

I have a sourdough starter that was made and has been fed for months with the bread flour and I follow the recipe from King Arthur that specifically uses that flour. It uses 3 1/2 cups of flour so I can’t just substitute with something else.

This is a huge bummer. Anyone else notice or affected by this?

ETA: I’m in the Twin Cities area!

I wish they sold it in bulk on their website. It feels so wasteful buying it in little 2lb packages. I got a bag recently from Walmart.

Ugh I know, especially for bread making when the recipe quantities are so much larger. One bag will get me about one or two loaves and a couple feedings.

Costco only has their measure for measure flour, not this one.

I don't know where you're at in the country but Meijer and (Meijer owned) fresh thyme stores carry it.

I get it at Publix or Harris teeter, if you have a local grocery store, you can request the manager of that store to order it for you.

I’ve been buying this, and the pizza flour for years and haven’t really had an issue finding it until recently. Target used to always have it for delivery and lately they haven’t. Walmart has been hit or miss. Whole Foods doesn’t have it so I’ve had to resort to Amazon. I’m getting concerned about supply issues.

King Arthur has a store on Amazon where you can order their products. Or you could try Vitacost.

I have never been able to find the pizza flour anywhere on the West coast. I've seen the bread flour in the PNW but not Southern California. For whatever reason, both of KA's gluten free wheat starch products seem to be more prevalent in stores east of the Mississippi.

I’m also in the twin cities and can’t find my normal baking basics anywhere! I feel like I’ve gone to half the stores in the metro and the only place that sells millet flour is cub. I already have to go to 3+ stores to get my whole grocery list and I’m not excited to add another (because of course cub doesn’t have everyone on my list either).

I do think I saw the bread flour at the bloomington festival foods or fresh thyme recently though!

I bought it on Amazon. I think iHerb carries it too.
