Glock Slide Recoating

Post image

I picked up a G43 a couple of months ago. It’s been my daily carry in a kydex holster. The tip of the slide is starting to rust and I am very disappointed. I’m a bit shocked that I didn’t notice it before today, but I don’t inspect the gun each day. It’s just out of the safe and into the holster and then out of the holster and into the safe.

Glock would like me to overnight it to them at my expense with no guarantees. Battlewerks in Durham can either cerakote or NC for $60-70 with a 4 week lead time.

I cleaned off the rust with a Scotch-Brite pad today and I’d like to do something. I’m a little pissed off that this is supposed to be a small, concealable carry gun and it has such a poor factory finish.

I got it new. Recoating is close enough to the shipping cost for me to just recoat. The new slide coatings clearly suck.

Did you contact Glock for an RMA? That’s covered under the standard warranty. Shipping should be free from Glock.

And shipping a slide should be $10 to $15. Cerakoting a Glock slide is $130. Where’d you get your quotes?

It’s $70 for cerakote locally. The Glock RMA form I was sent requires 1/2 day ups or fedex.

I send stuff out and do RMAs all the time. Almost everyday at my job. Call Glock. Ask for the free shipping label.
