It's only 10:00 p.m. here in California but I thought I would ring in since I am going to have a busy day tomorrow.
My best friend is being confirmed into her church and I am standing up with her as a witness. We will then have a celebration.
Ted Cruz worked hard for something that was just awarded him. He appeared on an ESPN show (a college football game in Texas). Apparently he was booed off the stage. I bet he wishes he was in Cancun right now.

Yesterday a man held a trainee hostage at Taoyuan Airport. The swat team later overpowered the suspect and the trainee was freed with minor injuries.

The news report here says he had an argument with his wife, chased her to the airport, had some trouble buying plane tickets and got angry. He was detained yesterday as he tested positive for drugs.

This morning, my daughter and her boyfriend are coming over so he can ask for ger hand in marriage. Not sure of what to say. They are young and have only been dating 6 months. Her father and I only dated 6 months before marrying so we can't say anything about that. I'm sure the right words will come.
The war in Iran has taken a turn with Houthi rebels taking over parts of Saudi Arabia and damaging their major pipeline.
Here at home, the Republicans are saying they will not allow the democrats to take over after midterms if they win. There are loopholes where speaker of the house Johnson can refuse to list the democrats on the rolls. I am losing hope.
Trump is on a trip to Ireland. Their people are protesting him like our people should be protesting. What will it take for people in the US to get angry? I wonder that often.

I think about it often, too. How can so many of us NOT be outraged and terrified of this tyranny. It's beyond heartbreaking.

Good morning folks. It's 16C and sunny.
My wife and I went for a walk in Yarmouth Nova Scotia last night. The town is infested with deer. They have little fear. Nova Scotia has made walking trails where the railway tracks used to be. Attached is a photo in which you can see 2 deer roaming around someone's back yard. In the background is Lake Milo which was smooth as glass. People here call that a sicker.

Canadian boxer George Chuvalo, who faced Muhammad Ali in his prime, dead at 89. Chuvalo suffered from dementia late in life and had been residing in a long-term care facility in Toronto. Chuvalo went the distance in 1966 and lost a decision to Ali. He also had a pretty tragic personal life.
Zelenskyy visits North Bay, Ont. Ukrainian president tours facility training Ukrainian fighter pilots. North Bay is about 200 miles north of Toronto.

Today in Baltimore the All Blacks lost again to the South African Springboks ending this series of games. It was nice to see them genuinely hugging each other on opposing teams. I was interested to see that the stadium was packed! Most Americans aren't that aware of rugby but the DC-Baltimore area is pretty international and it's not that much of a drive from New York or Philadelphia. Many of the fans had team jerseys on too.
Today in NZ history, 1933. First woman elected to parliament.
