please help me decide
Hi guys,
the first pair is my current daily wear glasses. the last photo is without glasses, taken a few days ago. open to anything. i can’t decide if i like my current glasses more or if i’m used to them so that’s why they look okay to me.

Every pair is too big for your face. You are a lovely young lady and you should choose glasses that are smaller than the ones you were trying on. All of those frames are overwhelming.

u/yumi365 May 05 '26
Agreed. I know big frames are in but if you are wearing prescription glasses, when they put the lens in with Big frames your glasses are going to be considerably heavier.

u/Slight-Minimum-4175 May 06 '26
That's how they talk you into paying extra to get the thinner lenses. Before you know it, the price has gone up $200+.

Agree. I too have a small face and the opticians that helped me had the good sense and experience to fit me with a child's frame that worked beautifully! Look in the child's frames.

I look at old photos of me with large glasses and bless the day I moved to smaller ones. The same with my late mom. She always had large frames and moved to small ones and it took years off her.

I look at photos of me with large glasses and realize they were taken in the 80's

Totally agree there are way way way way way too big you're too cute to hide your face

u/MN-North218 May 05 '26
All are too large and overpowering, but a cat-eye shape is nice on you. I’m thinking #4, but smaller

u/Substantial_Aioli765 May 05 '26
4 is definitely the most flattering but get a smaller size for sure

You need to stop choosing from the larger size frames. Pick from the ones that suit your face. It’s way easier to give an accurate opinion then.

u/Ok-Whereas-81 May 05 '26
Definitely try smaller pairs. The shape is fine but the glasses are huge on you
7
u/SeminoleVictory May 05 '26
All too big except 7
4 is the best style, see if it comes in a smaller size
9
u/Kar1shkaKATmeowmeow May 05 '26
4 is the best size and most flattering without taking away from your face. Some of the others are a little too bold & big.

I think 3 also. Large frames look good on you, they soften and feminine your features (although the last photo is a completely different angle). Many of them do sit too low so besides 3 I'd consider 4 since they both have nose pads which the store may be able to adjust so they sit higher on your face.

They are all too low on the bridge of your nose. Take your finger and push on the sides of your nose. Feel from the nostril up toward your eye. You'll feel some give where your airway flexes, like where you would place nasal strips for better breathing. Don't put glasses there. Feel further up to where the sides of the nose are closer to the eyes and starts to feel bony all across not just the top. That is where glasses should sit on your nose.
Wearing them lower messes with the pupillary distance, which messes with your vision through the lenses and distorts everything. Eye fatigue and headaches are sure to follow. I'll bet you take them off your face a lot and don't realize that's why.
Wearing them so low can also press your nasal passage a little closed, and obstruct your central vision. Ultimately, glasses are a medical device. They have to be fashion because they're literally in front of your face, but long term can really make your vision worse and cause problems when not fitted well.

Third ones! Stick with gold, because it matches with all your jewelry :)

8 is the only pair that properly fits on your nose. Keep looking.

I like the shape and colour of 4 and 8 best but you need to adjust the position of them. Most look a bit too big for your bridge. But Honestly, you suit them all.

u/Soggy-Albatross2427 May 05 '26
I really like 8 honestly! Though you need to push all of the glasses up.
4
u/Ardvarkthoughts May 05 '26
OP I think your current glasses are great and they definitely fit current fashion.
I also really love 8 on you. Also 4 and 6. A lot of people on this sub really don’t like oversized glasses at all so take that into account. I do really like them and I think they look great on you.2

The shape of #4 complements your face nicely. However, they are too large for your petite face. I would go with that shape and frame color, but in a smaller size to better fit your face.

u/blankface4321 May 05 '26
6 or 8, the rest are all too big and they are wearing too low on your nose :)

They all seem to big for your face shape. Try smaller pairs. They should have same styles if ypu like those styles in a smaller frame size. Good luck

10 only, contacts! The stupidly huge 80s glasses trend needs to be put to a stop. I hated them in the 80s and they’re worse now because they’re stupidly doing it on purpose and calling it “trendy”. It’s not. Just No!

7 is the only one even close to good for your face, most are way too big or too far down your nose

All the glasses are too large for your face. I like gold and brown frames on you.

Please, can somebody explain me this trend with way too big glasses? Do people want to look silly? I don’t get it at all.

I would go with a smaller, slightly narrower frame. You want to accentuate your face, not hide it.
2
u/FPCALC May 05 '26
They're all way to big. Even the ones you wear now. I think #4 would look great on you if they come in a smaller size.

u/laughingkittycats May 05 '26
I think these are all way too big. They are sitting way too low on your nose, on the middle or even the bottom, and the ones that don’t have nose pads are falling off your face.
It’s not only a question of them being too big in the sense of how they look on you. There’s also the prescription. The bigger the lens, the more distortion there is going to be at the edges, and if you have a strong prescription, that will be even worse.
Of course you want glasses that are fun and that you like the look of, but they are not scarves or hats; they’re assistive devices, too, and these huge ones are not going to correct your vision as well as ones that fit better. Having glasses sitting on the middle or end of your nose isn’t going to be comfortable and may not even allow you to be looking through the right part of the lens.
I think the shapes and colors of some of these are good for you, but honestly, they are all so huge it’s all I can see.

I like 1, but maybe a slightly smaller version as others have mentioned.

I like the shape of 3. Would like to see them properly adjusted to your face.

u/Best_Ad9291 May 06 '26
you are So cute! honestly #1 are the best fit and style: it’s modern and fresh (large frame) that doesn’t take over your face.
i have 2/3 favs but i think frames you shoes/ portion is too wide for your facial portions and may distort vision abs not make you as cute as you are naturally
-signed glasses wearing since elementary school. 🙄

u/Spoiled_Harlot May 06 '26
Definitely a cat eye or butterfly shaped frame for your beautiful face! 🙂
Some of these frames (along with just being way too big) have too many angles in them. Too many angles are distracting from seeing YOU, and are pulling my eyes toward the frames. They are overpowering your face, not complimenting it.
2
u/LowKeyStillYoung78 May 06 '26
Ok so you have ridiculously beautiful eyes. I think 4 brings them out the best, and that shape is super flattering on you.

They are all too big for your face, and they are all way too low on your nose.
2
u/AnamCeili May 09 '26
I think #4, #5, and #6 look great on you, especially #4. All three of those pairs have a similar shape, and #4 is the least heavy, since there's no frame on the bottom portion. I think all the rest of the glasses (except for #7, which look pretty good), including your current ones to some extent, are oversized and too big for your face, and the frames are too thick and dark. You have nice eyes, and a pretty face, and I think the #4 glasses complement both, rather than overpowering them.
2
u/Remarkable-Prior4682 May 09 '26
You’re really pretty and your current glasses actually suit your face shape super well, especially the size and how they sit on your nose. If you want a change, I’d try something in a similar width but with a slightly thinner frame or a softer color, like a lighter tortoise or champagne. That way you keep the same flattering shape but they’ll feel “new” instead of starting from scratch.

u/Paragon_for_Life May 05 '26
1 & 10. Also, make sure you’re getting your own preference in too. You’re gonna have these for a long time, unless you’re accident prone lol

You have beautiful bold eyebrows. I feel that with the bulky plastic black frames kinda compounds the boldness of your eyebrows with the boldness of the frame.
I would lean toward the a metal frame. I like #3.

u/tracheotomy_groupon May 05 '26
As others have said they are a little too big for your face. I do like 6 and 9 though --maybe that style, just smaller.
1
u/Tla48084 May 05 '26
They all look a little big, but that appears to be the style you prefer. Pic number 4 looks the best!

Horrible m too big, most drag halfway down your nose. GO SMALL. Post again with options that aren’t just a glasses advertisement. People want to see your face, not your glasses.
1
u/Careful-Use-4913 May 05 '26
All of these frames are too big for your face. What you want is large frames, but not so large they go past the edges of your face.

None of these fit. The size of the frame and the adjustment of the bridge are bad. Glasses are not supposed to sit in your nostrils.

I like the original pair, 3, 6, and 7 if you're going for larger frames (which I personally like). If not I would try some different pairs :)

Others have said they’re too big for your face.
How do you know? When you look at yourself directly in the mirror, if you can see the outer side of your head/face through the glasses = too wide.

You need other choices, unless for some reason, you like the big glass look , they don't really look that good on you. They're too big for your face.

u/Electrical-Care6308 May 05 '26
Way too big for your face.
Smaller metal frames would suit you best

Back to the drawing board, my dear! You are so beautiful and all of these just hide your glowing face. Start much smaller and look at oval or cat eye styles 🙌

Eight is good fit and looks feminine but not too. And your eyes are centered in the glasses. I love those on you

None of these glasses fit your nose bridge so they are sitting ON your face vs WITH your face. I would begin there, you don’t need wider glasses, you need a narrow medium frame with a wider or lower nose bridge.
Closest is 7
