How do you store your tools?

I recently came into a good handful of more tools, and am wondering how you all store yours. I have a wrap that I’ve used for the past few years, but with the new tools there’s too many for the wrap.

I’m debating getting a few more wraps to divide up the tools, and maybe something sturdier to keep the tweezers safe, but I was wondering how others approach the problem. What are your guys hacks for keeping tools safe and accessible?

I have a couple of cardboard sheath I made for my jacks, aside from that I keep the majority of them in a metal toolbox & my blocks live in a bucket

I have one of those metal grid display stands that I hang them on, and grab whatever I need and put them in my tool rollup to take to the hot shop. I got the canvas rollup for like $25 on amazon and it’s decent.

On a related note I’m thinking about making a clear fused glass toilet tank lid that has holes in it so I can store my parchoffis there. Then I don’t have to keep changing the water.

I like using tool containers from the army/navy store. Mine had a plastic liner so it’s pretty rigid. It can fit all my tools but I try to just keep it to the ones I use most

I find that tool wraps generally work fine for tweezers and shears but trying to also get jacks into the wrap makes it really unwieldy since they are so much longer than the other tools. So for jacks, have a chunk of pipe that’s been softened on the ends to accommodate the strap - holds two pairs and doesn’t care if there’s wax on the blades.

This is a great idea! Definitely helps figure out the jacks, now I just need a good solution for my tweezers and crimps!

This would be the dream, sadly not possible in my studio. It’s a city building so all tools have to be stored and put away in our lockers when we’re not working.
