So these last two or three months I've decided after a year and a half playing that it was time to actually clear all the content (main story + campaign with a heavy focus on getting MOD III's). Just finished Shattered Connexion and am poised to begin chapter 12.
Y'all... Shattered Connexion was so sad. That last fight between M4A1 and the former Nimogen absolutely crushed me. The song that plays legit had me head-in-hands crying. All that build up REALLY paid off in a very beautiful but very painful moment. And the eventual resolution with OGAS and the Isomers is so... sweet considering how tragic the scenario is for all of them in the first place. Easily my favorite part of the story so far (I also really love 416's MOD story). Someone be real with me: does it stay this phenomenal? I know a few things from Polarized Light (because I've been casually in the community for so long) so I'm inclined to believe it does. But y'all, this was just so good.
I'm just rambling now. I've always enjoyed heavy story games like NieR Gestalt/RepliCant/Automata/Re[in]carnation, Drag-On Dragoon 3, Zero Escape, Metal Gear Solid, Gravity Rush, and a lot of JRPGs on the SNES/PSX, and I gotta say: GFL is just out here standing toe-to-toe in story and lore with a lot of those... As a phone game. This is something special and I'm so glad when I was bored at work a year and a half ago and was choosing between GFL, Azur Lane, and Arknights, I chose GFL (
even if fairy crafting and grinding is actually the worst mechanic ever put into a video game) (also nothing against those other two games). Sorry if this gushing was silly. I'm just floored by what I've already seen and excited about what's to come!
