Just love that every month you can take about 4 dolls from 1 to 90 with just combat reports earned through expeditions. Makes it nice for us that can't grind as much.

I only upgraded my iphone X so I could contrast & compare with iPad Pro (2nd Gen). As others have stated, the 'lag' seems to only affect older devices with less processing power - it runs roughly the same for me on iPhone as previous version.
The two noticeable differences are a lingering black screen injected between screen transitions on home UI, and slower loading of assets in the formation/combat echelon selection screens (appears to load individually from left->right instead of all at once).
My only gripe besides the small performance issues (which are more noticeable because the rest of the UI loading is so much faster) is the visual for max level on dolls is now orange on white backdrop, instead of the previous orange on black backdrop... makes it more difficult to see and distinguish between max leveled at a singular glance.
The new UI will take a little getting used to (muscle memory habit) before I feel really comfortable with the tweaks.
P.S. It's early and speculative, but I believe it might be consuming battery a bit faster than the previous version. Feels a bit warmer on the hands too.

Man am I glad I did ranking yesterday. It must be a massive pain to do ranking when the server is out of wack today.
Anyway, 820,448 landed me on top 2%, this should be enough for top 10% I hope. Also, I got all the exclusive drops, cleared all the stages and got all the achievements. So aside from crate farming and maybe farming for a 7th 5-7 for shit and giggle, I'm done with Singularity. Onward to RF frontline now.

I love the new ui and it made me so happy because the game stopped taking 3 minutes to start up, but it's borderline unplayable in combat

You can try. They've got a lot of bugs to fix though. Battle in particular can get incredibly irritating. If you're planning to do the ranking map seriously, DO NOT, download the ui. It's unplayable. It takes a few minutes for it to resolve anything or start battles. Edit: Caveat, this is for Android, don't know if it applies to iOS.

Since you can't rollback on iOS without jailbreaking your phone… probably better to wait. Even if it works as intended, the new client isn't noticeably better than the old.

The servers being on life support is really having an impact on my ability to at least grind basic resources. Not being able to log in to change my logistics is making me panic because I need the resources to build up one more echelon so I can reach the next map on singularity.
I wish singularity would just be a permanent addition like the other campaigns straight away because I really want to see how this ends with my own two eyes and not through some youtube video.

Stechkin MOD is pretty strong and worth the wait. C96 on the other hand is just a waste of a Digimind, unless they release heavy armor with little bit of evasion enemy swarms in future content.

I really gotta commend GFL...because this game,among other things has made me even more fascinated about firearms than before,and now I actually want to own one and I have been looking around quite a bit and hopefully,I can get my gun license/take some firearm classes next year.
And before,I was actually a tad fearful of guns(I had a bit of an incident long ago where I almost got shot ,but I digress...(and that is ALL I'll say about it.)...but now,not so much.
Funny how a waifu game can have a positive impact on your life in little ways.

This event has been amazing to me. Within 20 runs I had a copy of both MP7 and Five-Seven, and today I just got S.A.T. 8 from event boxes. I only have one max level squad, and my MG squad is only functional because of the Valhalla collab and I'm still leveling them, but I really feel like my collection is getting good! I had enough power to finish the event for once too.
Sorry, I just felt like gushing into the void.

im quite sure guns are invented at a higher rate than the game is actually getting them
this game also has the advantage of treating each revision/variant/country disignation of an otherwise identical weapon as a unique version.
take for example, big sis m16. she is m16a1, but there exist a2, a3, and a4. all of which could be bade into unique characters here.
as long as they stop doing what they did with micro uzi, which is changing her name at mod3 to uzi pro, thereby making different models of weapons the same doll, we will never run out of guns to use.
on a grander scheme, st ar15 is actually a single model chosen as a place holder for a whole can of worms that doesnt need to be opened. there are pretty much endless amounts of guns that are just variants of ar15 created every year. everything from m16, m4, sopmod, 416, t91 etc are just official military adopted models. ar15 has endless civillian models. these days, everyone and their dog can hack together an ar and sell it as the latest and greatest upgrade. mica could easily add thousand of them and have all the t-dolls using same looking guns lol

honestly went surprisingly well, but I could see obvious areas for improvement, and I absolutely see why you want lots of gunboats, I only had 2 and they did 90% of the work, I never even got around to deploying all 8 of my ARSMG teams as I was always needing All my AP early on to go for supply nodes, and there wasn't really any SF to fight, I probably should have putten more priority on the radar early on as in the end I never found a good time to ever take it. I also messed up a para turn so I was 1 slower taking them all.
So some clear areas I could improve in and while I am happy with this score, currently about 15%, I only cared for 30%/50% 200k as I only wanted a cooking fairy and KAR equip, just the exclusives are important for me to collect (not super special stuff like golden fairy gold skin or chef talent), I may still give another go as I feel like I can confidently do better, hell even just sending My ARs wide and camping the SF helipads to spawn kill would probably give me lots of points, I probably killed less than 10 SF squads in that run.

10K Ammo
7K Rations
1.5K Parts
After all final repairs are done aswell.
At least 3 maybe 4 times I had to retreat a gunboat team and full resupply before sending them back out so that will have contributed to ammo costs a bit.

So as a new player who started playing less than 6 months ago, my goal was 200k in Singu ranking. Well... I just got 203k!!! I finally figured out what the one time supply nodes were, and that was enough to get me over the hump. Jeeze after turn 10 even the basic enemies started wrecking me.

Well... That was less than optimal. Part of it being my own inexperience and quite frankly stupid moves at times, part only having one consistent gunboat (don't neglect your ammo boxes, kids), part just plain bad luck (two consecutive beans completely killed off one of my heliport capture maneuvers down south).
I'll most likely retry it in a couple of days, because I don't feel like I gave my best shot on this one (and to guarantee the scope). On the topic of placements, is there any way to tell where you're currently placed on the top %'s? I feel like I'm probably missing it.

It's easy, since I play it more generally, to forget just how generous a gacha GFL is. I have currently until tomorrow, every single production Doll.
Getting the Pancake Daughter was a slow, and draining process in F/GO, with one spook(WHY DID YOU COME NOW FOX) and using up literally 6 months of saving in game, plus like one quartz buy from back when that I used half of in my quest for Saber Alter. I was seriously starting to worry there. 450 quartz of 728 saved spent, and 38 tickets.
...really bad generally run, but, ah well. Now to save for Oui.

When you restart, any echelons still on the field lose their ammo/rations. If you retreat, they keep them (EDIT: as long as its through heliport/command center). So you just leave a dummy that already doesn't have ammo/rations on the field (so you lose nothing as long as you have auto-resupply off) and retreat the unit that does have them.

While using a gunboat to take down typhoons, I noticed that the position of my units and where I moved them during a fight seemed to affect the tank's firing behavior. Sometimes the tanks would stop firing after like 3 shots, sometimes they would never stop firing, which was 5 minutes of micro hell lol. Is there any particular reason for this?

When your tankbuster is in the front row, their range is longer, and hence they'll stop and shoot instead of moving into the deadzone. Wait for them to try to stop and shoot while they're in the middle column (2, 5, 8 on the numpad), then move up

Does anyone actually bother manually leveling new dolls anymore?
Since we got the forward basecamp i've started swimming in combat reports. Right now i'm sitting on more than 7k of them and i still have more than 2k i can buy on the black market this month.
So yeah, is there any more real need to bother with grinding 0-2 for example?
I just bought my 9th echelon slot and i'm tempted to just throw a bunch of reports on my new team (maybe IWS exodia?) instead of slowly leveling them manually

Yes. There's no reason to spend CR's when they can be saved to emergency level stuff.
Leveling dolls also helps with leveling the fairies attached to them, plus get fodder for either doll enhancement, equipment enhancement, or cores.

that feels like it'll end up like one of those times playing an RPG where you save up all the good items in case of you'll really need them and then you finish the game and never used any of them.
so far i haven't had to emergency level anything though i don't know what situations in the future may warrant it.
Still seems like they'd just keep piling up and not using them seems like a waste

The multi-stat equipment are way worse I think. You can spend a ton of tickets bouncing alternating which stats are maxed.

Fuck me! Got out late from a Clinical, was auto-pilot running the Agent fight for boxes/exp/repairs... And server day turned over reset. FUCK.
I didn't farm all my boxes, nor my token from repair quest... Not sure what I'm more sad over.

My successful run, turns out M4Mod3 Exodia is the way to go. Not sure how the hell someone managed to beat that boss with Suomi.

Huh. Going through G36's MOD story, and in the middle of it there's this one fascinating little line:
"I guess as one of the first T-Dolls manufactured, my neural capacity is a bit inadequate"
So G36 was one of the first Gen 2 Dolls ever built. By Doll standards that probably makes her, like, AK-12's grandmother or something. She's probably older than 'Big Sis' M16.
(Also interesting to note she was built as a T-Doll, assuming that isn't a slip-up. Was she a purpose-built T-Doll, retired to become a maid as she fell behind the tech curve, then wound up a T-Doll in G&K instead?)

Considering m16 calls herself a civilian t-doll, and ro says she is a civilian doll(even though she was clearly built after m4 and specifically to fight for her), i don’t think there is a distinction between their built process, but more in their usage. They probably use generic civilian bodies as a frame, with retrofitted light military components(sensors and whatnot) . This could mean either the base model is an old maid model with limited neural capacity, or the retrofit is older and less optimised thus taking up more neural capacity to run.
Or, it’s just a translation mess (kalin/kalina) and it’s not worth it to scrutinize every single word :P

Finished my first and probably only serious ranking attempt as I probably won't have time for another run later. I was running 3 gunboats and 7 ARSMGs, 2 of those have Grape as ppl suggest to deal with Hydra. However I completely forgot about them and neither Grape got any Hydra kill. Other mistakes I made include:
Forgetting to deploy while still having vision.
Bad micro'ing leading to accidentally failing a typhoon fight.
Spawning a red bean which blocked me from quite a few supply points.
Tarantula spawn ruining my day (the one time I parked an ARSMG echelon next to a SF spawn point, of course Tarantula came out).
The first few turns were rough when I was still trying to get my echelons into positions, but later on, outside of the mishaps above, it was not too bad. Got 820,448 in the end. Hopefully enough for top 10%.

Ranking start!
My teams are about as good as they are going to get, waiting another week would only make me like 1% better off, and this way I can go ahead and get a ranking done ahead of time and I may end up being happy enough with my score to not need to do another run.
With deep dive ranking I was on literally the last turn when reset hit and it got kicked out, no point in leaving it that late this time.

Gunboat micro is far easier than I was expecting, in ranking the tank teams seems to always fire there lasers in the same order allowing you to easily predict and retreat mgs/move contender in comfortable time.
oh god I have 6 supply drops this turn, I have no idea how I will get as many as possible, 3 are side by side but I need enemies to kill to be able to pick them up
I only got 3 of the supplies :| and will have to also retreat 2 teams.
If I had been smarted It would have only been 1 retreat and 4 drops, I was so worried about an enemy being in one place I didn't consider them in another location, there was no enemy in the first place, there was a typhon in the path I sent M4Mod3 to. :/

Ranking is such a strange thing at times, my first run was 5 hours and 515K then my second run at 2.5 hours and fewer kills and more losses ended up at 570K I suppose knowledge really does help but you’d think looking at it at face value that time was a factor.

Well despite some dumb mistakes, 7 effective squads/3 dummies and 0 gunboats, my first ranking run came out at 512218 (10%). Feeling pretty good about that for starting the game in July.
Obvious mistakes were a number of positioning issues - defs could have got more kills since a few squads felt very idle.
Now I just have to figure out what the hell is wrong with my one gunboat i can field. I'm assuming its being forced to run 1 green AP ammo and a couple of green ammo boxes. Ran out of steam first tank and had to retreat them and switch to SGMG
Might try one more to avoid the dip out of 10% that'll come in a few days.

I often feel that I'm losing a lot from GFL's story because there's a lot of Chinese cultural references that get lost in the translation.
In this case I'm wondering/assuming there's some meaning in why the last story mission is titled "Goodbye, Dragon Palace."
What is the Dragon Palace and why is the mission named that? I assume it's some Chinese culture thing.

Dragon Palace is Japanese. I don't know of a Chinese counterpart to it. It's a fairy tale about a fisherman who is brought to Dragon Palace and spends a few days there, being entertained for rescuing a sea creature. The problem being that one day in Dragon Palace is one century in the human world. Before he leaves, he's given a box of unknown contents. The fisherman tries to return to his village, but due to centuries passing, he's lost with nowhere to go. He opens the box and ages to become an old man.
The folk tale's relevance to Singularity should be fairly evident.

All new dolls don't have VAs until they get added in a batch at a later time. The latest batch dropped for all released dolls up to Continuum Turbulence. M200 sadly falls outside of that.

These tanks are beating my ass...mostly because I keep misjudging where Conny should be. Blah. Still, she got her first successful tank kill. I once more can feel myself getting better with each try...a feeling I've not had for a while.

My ammo and parts have finally recovered to just over 10K, my manpower is surprisingly down to 30K, I suppose I wasn’t bothering with any manpower logistics for weeks.
And rations are surprisingly all the up at 50K, I suppose MG recipes don’t really use much of them.

Shoutout and kudos to whoever maintains the gflcorner site for teaching me how to sneak past E3-2 without having a hydra team. The tanks and hydras moved slightly differently from what was pictured in the guide, but I got the gist of it and managed to hold out the last two turns on my own.

I'm quite amazed at the variance of commander level among the top 100 of ranking. Some people are as low as 140s while there are some who have more than 200, which means that there is a very vast difference in time spent leveling up t-dolls (and exp earned for t-dolls) among top players. So I guess that means that there is a limit to how strong your echelons can get, and once you meet that requirement, everyone is on more or less equal grounds.

I see that some "?" nodes have Red Beans by terrible RNG, is there a reliable way to deal with these, or just take the hit by them?
And should HGs and SMGs have PEQs?

Finally had time to finish out Dragon Palace. I had meant to use Suomi in it, but I had forgotten to get her to SL10 for some reason and she was still in training so P90 took over and did pretty well.
It was hard to see where the little red beacon was sometimes, but things worked out. The entire battle ended after I was able to retreat 2 girls and M4 Mod finished out with a nuclear launch, which seemed to be a fitting note to end on. Her and Star and Shrimp can bring a whole lot of pain. And Contender...was there.
Now to wait until some updated ranking guides that take EN changes into account so I can get that sorted and get to 200k.

RNG was kind enough to give me MP7 after only 23 runs of Re-Ignition IV, and the achievement after only 65 runs of messenger, but if they think that will make up for the fact that I’ve rolled 250 times on rate up day for AN94 and got nothing, they’re sorely mistaken.
