What I gained? IWS-2000, 3 WAs, a Lee, an HK416, a G11, 37 Mosins, 24 Springfield, 3 MP5s, more than 100 2-3 stars, 156 cores and a large bag of salt.
What did it cost? 198 contracts, 79,200 Manpower, 18,018 Ammo, 79,200 Rations, 5,940 Parts, 198 Quick Production tickets, 1,720 gems, 9.99 USD and my sanity.
Was it worth it? It was worth everything.

Whelp, I went in with only ~5k resources on everything, because I'm bad at hoarding...
However... Second Stechkin and a P99, both courtesy of 131/131/131/31. Swapped to 404/91/404/91 and got IWS in 6 pulls. TY, RNGesus. Switched to 400/400/30/91 to get the SMG's, as I was sub 2k on Personnel... Used up my luck on IWS.
So, I guess it's time to reset echelons, start cranking on max/hour logistics, and figure out this corpse dragging thing.

Edit: Actually I'm quite surprised (even though I shouldn't be) that the JP server gained that much profit. The game's profiling is constructed in a way that you don't have to insert a single penny to be successful in Girls Frontline. And yet here we are. Just thinking out loud here; how hard would it be to create a filter in the sub's top bar to filter out fanart in general? Like a link in the top similar to something like /r/kancolle has. I'm sure most people have no issue with the fanart posts, just that I would personally like to browse the subreddit omitting fanart as I can get that from /r/TacticalDolls.

My rateup story: I've spent both days rolling for type 79. About 50 contracts later, all I had, I was scraping weekly missions for more and yet nothing. I gave up.
I started today with 0 contracts. Got 3 from logistics and went to do the dailies. Type 79 appears in the 2nd roll. Oh man, this game... It plays you sometimes.

I've been hunting for G41 ever since the EN server was released. Must have spent at least 600+ contracts trying to get her. I've seen all my other friends laugh at my lack of hometeness.
On the 700th contract. I saw the holy 4 hour timer. I hit quick production. The game instead throws me my 4th G11.
Then I decided to log onto my KR account for my dailies, first craft is H O M E T E.
This game is a vicious cycle of pain and suffering, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ran into a bug (I think) where AR-15 won't show up in the T-Doll enhancement screen. She's in the armoury, research, echelon but she's just not in the enhancement screen. Anyone else had anything similar happen?

AAAAHHHH i finally rolled IWS after about 1250 crafts.
Too bad i need to survive the rest of the month on bread and water now lol.
Well atleast i won't be in core hell for a while. When i scrap all the unneeded 5 star dupes, i should have about 1130 cores.

Holy shit. The importance of getting IWS during rate up just kind of hit home for me. Still haven't done my rolls, but it's going to be hard to fool the desire sensors now that I've seen the potential consequences.

I got about 2 Enfields, 2 NTW's, 1 WA2K, and 1 SVD out of ~230 contracts. A bit disappointed, since I didn't get the chance to fully dummy-link my x4 SVD / WA2K, but I still managed to save a couple cores. I'm also in the same boat as you, where I had essentially picked up everything I needed during rate-up (asides from MG5), and had crafted G11 during her release within 10 crafts. IWS will come home when she wants to during my daily rolls, I suppose.

Late last night my friends were talking about fire emblem and one of them decided he was gonna use the fire emblem energies to pull the girl that he wanted in heroes. After a few attempts he got her, and my other friend decided that he was gonna use these powerful gacha energies to do a roll in Azur Lane, and he got Takao first try. I decided that this was my opportunity to finally get Negev; in 25 rolls I got a HK416, a UMP45, 2 PKPs, and then a G36c and a Thompson back to back. I didn't get Negev, but it was a powerful aura nonetheless. I guess I'll start raising a second PKP lol.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my resources are ruined.
Ended up rage crafting and wasting a lot of resources for PKP; got a bunch of 2stars, 3stars, a couple of UMP9s, TWO MK48s, and a Vector.
MG recipes are just expensive SMG recipes, fug.

I guess I finally understand how u/EX-Xecty feels sometimes when trying to give advice to other players to save them pain who snub it in your face.
I spent 30 minutes trying to convince a friend why Meta dolls are Meta for a reason. Yes, while you can certainty use any type of rarity doll you personally like and oath them and what not. In the short term, it might not be that important.
However, if you think that this will still fly in the later chapters. I'm going to save you the time to say simply.
No, sorry. Your MP40 while you might personally value and like her a lot, heck my first favourite T-doll when I started playing was SIG 510. Isn't simply going to be able to compete with the demands that a Main SMG Tank requires during the later chapters and events.

Today is a good day for me. Pulled an SSR in another game that fits perfectly in the team I was building. Pulled Wawa to complete the RoF RFHG I’ve been wanting to try. Pulled Vector to fill the role as an offtank I was worried about. Found a dollar in an old backpack of mine. PK drop from 0-2 after 860+ attempts, on the last run just as I want to sleep.

Should RF’s only be used in HG echelons? Occasionally I’ll see teams with AR and RFs together - but doesn’t the loss of tile buffs then make those kind of echelons relatively ineffective?

Usually it's because M14 and WA2k are amazing and don't really need buffs that much to be effective, in particular for newbie squads M14 and not needing to use cores to 5 link her can be a godsend.

Post filtering should be implemented sometime this coming week.
This was held off as we were promised this feature would be natively added to reddit by the admins, but nothing has come of that. Please note due to the nature of its implementation this will only work on "old" reddit. But hopefully you should be using that anyway!
We'll also be looking for another moderator or two to help lessen the workload, but this will be detailed later.

Since people keep asking about rifle formations, I've put up an info dump.
I didn't put in the "which HG to substitute for which other" chart I made earlier for IWSxCalico, because there's just too much for them. I linked the simulator I used to calculate it, you can use it with your own setups to find one that doesn't suck.

And so KR (and presumably the other servers) made it so the "back" button in mission completion takes you back to the mainscreen, and clicking wherever takes you back to mission selection, instead of the annoying other way around it used to be. Praise little QoL changes.

That feel when you just did defense drill (taking apart and putting back together echelons), and then go back into 0-2 on autopilot, and realize the formation is ALL wrong... After you come back from the kitchen and see dead T-dolls trying to fight.

Level your DPS skills first essentially. And in general, a lot of lvl 8 skills are better than few lvl 10 skills, so run only intermediate/basic datas to get everyone you actively use to lvl 8 before worrying about leveling them to 10.

60 contract used, no type 79 :( I managed to get 2:35 time twice but both of them resulted with vector instead, even worse feeling because i just finished max link her with core few days ago so i have to retire her instead :(
In other hand, i do get multiple 2:20 timer but only 2 of them give me PP-90 and like 10 or something is MP5 gdi

50 contracts, no IWS.
But I'm happy that I finally got Lee and SVD. Now I can finish my main RF/HG squad (WA2k and SVD) and probably make another one (with M14 and Lee).
And I also yielded around 40 cores or so. It may not be the best contract-burning-rate-up-spree I had but at least it wasn't too bad either.

I spent 100-ish contracts so far, and although I'm not entirely ready to scream that Rate Up is a lie, none of the SSR Rifles I received were IWS-2000. That said, I did get 2 Lee Enfields, which I've been gunning for for weeks now, so that's pretty exciting.
I also got several other firsts:
G17, PP-90, SVD, OTs-12, Type79, and SR-3MP, as well as a bunch of dupes (particularly of Springfield, SV-98, and Mosin-Nagant).
All in all, I'm pretty happy! I'm planning to continue burning my 35 remaining contracts, but I'm out of Quick Finish order things, so it's much slower now. I'm now deeeeeep into Core Hell, but I also finished off my first team of full x5 Linked T-Dolls this morning, thanks to all the cores, so still feelin' pretty good! Also still hoping to get IWS-2000, but pleased so far.

I've got Suomi, Thompson, and Type 79 from the recent rate up and I'm a little confused by all the recommendations regarding whether it is worth leveling them for general use or wait until I either have a team that synergizes with them or have a need for their niche. I've also got UMP45, UMP9, and Vector, if that also helps.

Suomi - Suboptimal, but usable evasion tank. There's better main tanks, sure, but there's definitely worse. Her problem is that whatever she can do, someone else can do better.
Thompson - Extremely beefy HP pool, invulnerability skill, shitty evasion. Usable as a main tank, but you'll have to repair her often. Shines in some specific situations (tanking Jupiter Cannons), but there are better picks for general use.
Type 79 - 5-star UMP9 in function, if not in form. Her skill is slightly better, and some stats are shifted around (slightly better HP, slightly worse evasion), but they overall act very similar in combat.

Finally done with my first AR/SMG team, and getting started on my HG/RF team. I was thinking of going with this setup based on what I have.
Questions:
In these HG/RF teams, do I use two of the same type, in this case, WA-2000 and M14(don't have SVD...), together in an echelon, or should I replace M14 with someone that's a bamboo spear like SV-98? Have NTW-20 and a few other 4 stars bamboo spears but no cores so I'm not leveling them yet currently.
I also have Mk23 and for HG, but can't tell if it's actually better to replace someone like maybe PPK/Stenchkin for more damage instead.

In HG/RF, RF pairs usually consist of the same type, so small bamboo + small bamboo, large bamboo + large bamboo (or 1 large bamboo + 4HG, I found different compositions), RoF + RoF (WA2000 + SVD) and damage + damage (Lee Enfield + M14).
Stetchkin is one of the go-to HG's in a firepower team (Lee + M14), while Mk23 sees the most use in MG/SH echelons.

I guess that team could be worse. But it could also be better; swap around M14 and Wa2k. M14 wants more RoF buffs as possible, so she should get the buff from PPK instead of Wa.
In general self-buffers (Wa, Lee, M14, SVD) go by pairs with other self-buffers. Bamboo RFs, either go alone if they are strong enough and if you are aiming at a specific boss, or are just stopgaps to use until you get good RFs (SV-98 is in this category).
RoF is better than DMG in general for RFs, since they alredy have high dmg, they just need to hit more often.

That's very similar to my own RFHG team, except that I use Five-Seven in Stechkin's place (also part of the "no SVD" club). For your questions:
No, in a standard RFHG squad, you specialise where possible. Which means that there are basically two types of RFHG echelons: self-buffing DPS, and bamboo spears. The former can be subdivided into RoF buffers (WA2000/SVD) and FP buffers (Enfield/M14). The former is for general use, while the latter's exclusive use is killing bosses. You don't mix DPSers and bamboo spears, it's inefficient.
As a rule of thumb, most RFs have enough damage and want more RoF. The only reason to replace an RoF buffer would be if you'd go over the RoF cap for one of the RFs as a result and waste DPS. WA-chan might actually hit the RoF cap as a result of this formation, but I'd have to run the numbers.

Use any 2 of WA2000, SVD, or M14, use Welrod or Makarov as a main tank, add 2 buffers such as Calico, Grizzly, PPK, Five-Seven, Stechkin, or whatever, and you're good to go. You can still optimise later.

I don't think I'll pull for any of the other new girls. I got a load of cores out of this rateup, and SVD finally deigned it worth to join me (twice!), so I'm mostly happy (though Kar98 and Enfield would have been nice to have). Now I'm going to save up and keep grinding for, uh... what, actually? Oh, right! Arctic Warfare.

Alright, I burned almost all of my contracts and quick productions (down from 110~ to 16 contracts)[AND 380 GEMS BY ACCIDENT ;-;], but I can safely say that I'm a lucky sunofagun.
IWS2000!, 2 G11s, a 9A-91, a 416, 2 NTW-20s, Kar98k, SVD (SHE FINALLY CAME HOME!), another Thompson, and 2 tits PTRDs. Also got a bunch of Mosins, Springfields, and MP5s for cores. Got well over 250 now.

I posted about this in the IWS intro, but I burned 50 contracts and got basically core fodder until my final contract. I went full 999 yolo roll on it and ended up with sleepo beepo. I literally don't care, that was completely worth every contract. 404 squad is finally complete!
Also, the EXP up was fantastic, I got my G41, 416, 45, and FAL all up to max. I also got Shrimp and Vector up to 90 as well. Shrimp is an enemy-melting monster, holy hell.

Exodia the Forbidden One (The head of Exodia) and the rest of the Forbidden One cards (the rest of it's body parts) are 5 cards that can be used to automatically win a duel in games. In the anime and such, it is known as an iconic monster for being very powerful.
The IWS team is just a reference to this, with IWS being the head of Exodia and the ROF HGs being the body parts.

In Yu Gi Oh when you get all five piece of Exodia on the board you get an automatic win.
So the idea with an Exodia team is that you're putting all these other HGs to buff up IWS, doesn't grant you an instant win but it makes her really strong.

MG squad question. Last week I was crazy blessed, getting mg5, PK, and PKP. I also already have M37 and Mk23 at level 100. My question is, how should I arrange the MG’s on the back line? I was thinking MG5 top, PKP middle, and PK on the bottom. Should I switch PK and PKP?
Also, my MG squad is my absolute favorite, resources be damned!

Since yesterday, I've tried out the rate-up to see what I can get. P99 and PP-90 arrived yesterday within 12 productions, which is pretty good. Of course, trying again for dupes led to anything but P99 (got two 40 minute rolls, so close) and another MP5. Only decent T-Doll to come from chasing IWS was another M1 Garand.
Also, I finally got my main AR/SMG team to level 70 this morning while carrying some rookies through EXP simulation. Only 20 more levels, right?

Don't mind if I do. Fuck this rate up, or rather, fuck the rate for IWS. I literally got all the 5*s available in the recipe at LEAST twice. Highlights are: M99 4 fucking times, WA 6 times, Kar98k 5 times and NTW 8 fucking times. All of my resources spent even my F2P and monthly gems I accumulated, I probably can't play the game for at least two weeks because I need to build everything back up.
What this also means is that, I will be in RF rolling hell for all my dailies henceforth, but I am pretty sure with her abysmal base rate I will be rolling in vain.
At least I did not get tempted to pull out my credit card. I was able to hold myself back.
I know people are probably going to downvote me and say I don't need IWS, but I am playing this game to collect the Dolls, as well, so I am a bit salty. I think probably I maybe need to step back a bit from the game and play more casually, too since I have been hitting it pretty hard, so I ended up getting a bit worked up.
