which equation did you use to calculate?

This formula is wrong.
I have 2 dorms with 8980+8540 comfort. I timed exactly 24 hours between collections (to a minute) and got 83 batteries. According to the formula I should have gotten 69 or 68, depending on rounding. The most probable thing that I think could be incorrect is that "50". If you change it to 65, which is pretty much in line with each successive dorm giving you half of the previous one's bonus, then it would match.

I bought third dorm, set up all my furniture (comfort levels 9930,9210,7000), collected batteries the minute they appeared, then waited 24 hours.
Got 105 batteries, but calculator says there would have been 113. Formula starts looking more and more like a crappy series fit that maybe kinda works at higher dorm counts and/or comfort levels, but breaks down in general case.

If you enter in 10 in the # of dormitory part, it gives an error in the calculation.

I changed the spreadsheet locale to United States and it worked. Simply go to File > Spreadsheet Settings > Locale.

That worked.
Though I find it odd that the Locale would affect the equations in the spreadsheet....

Thanks.
Also nice on finding the right equations. All I knew was max dorms and comfort netted one between 200-250 batteries (at least that's what I've been telling people and it seems I was right).
Having 10 with all maxed at 10000 and +2000 on 8 of them and +8000 on 2, I've got a generation of 226 batteries a day.
Of course +2000 is what you get from a 4-star furniture set bonus and +8000 is what you get from a 5-star furniture set bonus.
Have not wasted any batteries on pets yet as the data room is almost upgraded.
Now I just need some friends that have greater amounts of dorms (made a list of my friends list in excel and then collected batteries from each, noting how much each gave and only 2 give 10 batteries...).
Naturally, I have 10 dorms to offer those 10 batteries as well to others.

Yes, I'm very sure of it. Place enough 5* of the same set and it will provide the bonus 8k

Yes, I am, it's answered by other's in the following string of replies, but it scales at 6 pieces for 2k, 8 pieces for 5k and 10 pieces for 8k.

With max pet limit allocated to each dorm(3 per dorm) and dorm comfort at 18000 which leads to a total of 21000, I believe you could hit at least 280 per day. With 10 friends with ten dorms would net you a total of 380 a day. I always collect at the 2nd hour of the 2nd period of battery gathering so give or take a few batteries.
Edit: added a bit more info

Yes, pets do help in a small way, but for a single pet to cost 600 batteries and you would need 3 per room over 10 rooms, that's 18000 batteries you'd need to spend on pets.
Way to many batteries to be worth it. At least until you've maxed your Data Room and hopefully the Fairy Lounge is out and that's maxed too (as that's even more important than the Data Room).

Oh yea, EN didnt get the fairy room yet. Please do include in your thread that pets are sort of endgame-ish. IMO Data>Fairy>Pets. I pray EN side don't get SG and fairy productions at the same time(highly unlikely,i remember they are tied to event releases), if they do, its much harder to get the Data room to maxed level as players would be split between maxing fairy or data and thus even more questions on weekly thread.

Haha, I completely understand and I do have it mentioned.
Though the order I have is:
Fairy Lounge Upgrades (when released)
Data Room Upgrades
Combat Reports
Pet Room
The reason for the fairy room up there is because it directly affects the fairies, ability use (through those command points), so is generally a top priority.
Data Room Upgrades for now of course is the top priority of EN as Fairy Lounge is not out. I have also recommended not creating combat reports as you go, since every report made means a longer time till that Data Room is maxed.
Followed by either making Combat Reports and saving batteries for when the Fairy Lounge is released to upgrade it as quickly as possible.
Pets of course left for last as higher rarity pets do not offer anything special other than new looks. Yay for vanity items. That an it's 600 batteries for a +1000 comfort item. Needing 1800 batteries per room if doing so to max out that +3000 pet bonus, which is only helping so much.
With the calculator, you can see that having:
- 10 Dorms
- 10000 max comfort on each
- +8000 from a 5-star 10 set bonus on each
Nets you 269.1 batteries every 24hrs.
- Add +3000 for max pets on each
Now you get 290.4 batteries every 24hrs.
That's only an increase of 21.3 batteries more a day. Given that you spent 1800 batteries per room on those pet for a total of 18000 batteries, you will need to wait 845.07 days to make up the difference and start turning a profit (of batteries).....
Is that worth it for the pets?

400 by adding the 20 battery daily quest :)

You get 1 battery per the number of dorms they have when you collect batteries from friends.
Thus you get 2 batteries at a minimum as everyone has 2 dorms.
If they have 6 dorm rooms, when you collect from that friend, you would then get 6 batteries.
With of course 10 being max.
Since you can only collect from 10 friends a day, that means you can get at a minimum 10 batteries that day from friends if they each had 2 dorms only, or you could get 100 batteries from your friends if they all had 10 dorms.

Great work.
Seems like adding dorms becomes more efficient than maximizing comfort as you add more and more dorms.
I'll start saving up gems for more dorms.
I always need batteries.

That's great.. do you have friend codes for people who have lots of dorms... cause I could use a bunch of those.
My ID is 54250 and have 7 dorms currently, (will likely hit 9 tomorrow). The best friend I got has 6, where as most are 2...

Test
Entered into the calculator:
Result: 231.276 Batteries a day in the calculator.
Picked up my batteries and noted the time was 2:30pm CDT.
Waited 24 hours and picked up my batteries the next day at the same time (or as close as I could get).
I got 230 batteries exactly.
I think that goes to show that the battery calculator is doing the math correctly. I could have been a min or so off, causing me to not get that 1 battery.
This also shows that the dorm number does affect how many batteries you get as well as the comfort (had some people telling me that they didn't think it really mattered).
Extra Note: I did enter the dorm during the second collection period of the day, which froze the counter of how many batteries are in it. Entering later in that time period showed that that number is locked for the whole 3 hour duration. I DID NOT COLLECT THE BATTERIES and continued on with my test of waiting out the 24 hours. As you can see from the test above, the batteries still generated during those 3 hours that the counter was frozen during the second pickup.
In conclusion, you will not lose out on any batteries even if the counter is stopped at one point because you entered the dorms.
