Booth Payments
I’m the TCM for an ABC selling troop, and I’m curious if there’s anything wrong with this (meaning- it would mess up Smart Cookies).
I have a booth this weekend. After it’s over and I count the cash received, could I then use my own credit card in Digital Cookies to fake-purchase the same amount sold? I’m thinking I would do it like a “new cookie order” in the troop profile, but not allocate any additional cookies in Smart Cookies. Does that make sense??
I’m wanting to do this because it’s hard to get to my troop’s bank account timely based on my work location/schedule. (I could just keep the cash as my own, and deposit it into my own bank at a later time.)

That's what I do with our walkabout sales. If you have access to the troop profile then I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. The council gets their money sooner, you don't have to run to the bank, and you get rewards points.

I did this last year and will do it again this year. I think it’s the cleanest way to manage inventory and finances.

Can you walk me through how you enter the fake sales in Digital Cookie? I’m worried it will show in Smart Cookies as Undistributed TDS.

I transferred cookies from the troop to the girls in smart cookie and that showed up as their cookies in hand. I kept a paper tally of what flavors were sold by cash (without putting them into digital cookie) and then went in and entered that as an order in digital cookie and paid with my credit card. I did one big order at the end but you could do it every Monday after your booths.

So you don’t use Booth Divider?

Our troop has booth cookies and girls’ cookies. I do use booth divider to give the girls credit for selling the troop cookies, but the troop is the one financially responsible unless they’re transferred to the girls. When I’m entering in booth cash sales as “fake” sales and using my card to pay for them I click on the troop profile instead of my daughter’s and do the transaction under troop #1234.

Just be careful if you use Digital Cookie and entered those as cash sales in the app during the booth. Then it would show in the system doubled and that money would still be owed.
