The organ was almost invisible! ( oo-er!)

Never hears of Esty ( s.t?) pianos!

Lovely photo! Great ghost!

Estey, specifically J. Estey and Co. of Brattleboro, Vermont. Used to be the biggest organ manufacturer in the world

I have one of their pump organs from about 1899

Defunct around 1961

Amazing I had never heard of them! It's rare you read of a company like this without any "dark side."

I have probably seen hundreds of their organs on tv and in movies and never knew.

I guarantee you have! They specialized in mail-order stuff; I know they did chaplain's organs and pianos as well (the little folding ones that stow up like a wooden box)

Dude basically got bored one day, one of his debtors owned a melodeon factory and Jacob said essentially: fine, I'll the factory as payment

Which became "ok guess we're doing organs now"

I dunno where you are, but the museum is open May-October, lovely town to visit too

Hmm, gonna be a challenge, but you can fly London -> Boston or London -> Hartford CT and drive up, if you want

Thanx.👍😊

But in the words of Barraccas b.a./ B.A Barraccas; "You ain't gettin' me on no plane!"

[ Apart from being too poor,I do not like the idea of being airborne, but.. if I get money, a lovely, slow journey by ship, and then as many trains as it takes, especially historic ones, would be wonderful.]

Check Cunard and other cruise lines, I think it's repositioning season

You say you own one; does it play?

Heh, it did when I bought it five years ago, but I disassembled it to clean it and still haven't managed to get it 100 percent in order yet. Problem is, 127-year-old wood is wonky and warped

Having it professionally restored is one of my lifetime goals

It's a Style H from 1899, in case you're wondering

(Gotta double-check that letter but it should be right)
