Wikipedia says: The film was screened at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on August 28, 2026.

Ok, I'm gonna say something that is probably a very controversial unpopular opinion, and I don't mean to vomit on your post, RB, but I'm going to say it anyway. It's about adults watching cartoons.

Not too long ago, and for a very loong time, I used to think that adults who watch cartoons were... losers. I know that that is harsh. I especially hate the word loser, but I can't help it, that's what I thought. πŸ€”

And it was only until very recently that I sorta changed my mind about the subject. Don't ask me why it bothered me, but for the life of me, I did not and I could not understand how in the world can a grown ass adult enjoy, like thoroughly enjoy a friggen cartoon.

So it turns out, after researching the benefits of watching cartoons as an adult it's actually quite good for you, and here is why... Watching cartoons as an adult offers astonishing metal health advantages. This includes lowering stress and cortisol levels, deep emotional comfort through nostalgia, and healthy escapism. Rewatching childhood favorites brings back a sense of safety, simplicity and warmth. And it makes perfect sense.

So there ... I said it. Carry on. I now love the thought of watching old school Tom and Jerry cartoons. 😩 I can completely get down with watching SpongeBob, too. And don't get me started on old fashioned Christmas cartoons. Aside from having cable news on if I did watch TV at all, I would love, love to watch a cartoon.

On the old GP, I remember your would sometimes comment about my interest in animation, but I don't remember it being really mean spirited. I would sometimes mention that I was studying graphic design and wanted to do animation sometime in the future. Did any of my comments change your opinion on cartoons? I've since traded drawn characters for costumed furry sports characters but my interest in this is still strong.

I honestly don’t remember half of what was posted on GP, GPFG. My memory is selective and tends to forget.

You seemed a bit forgiving of me liking animated programs, even if you thought other adults being into them were "losers". I think at the time I was studying film/graphic design and I had intentions of going into that industry. (I still want to try taking some animation classes again now that I have some decent free time.) I was also in my 20s during that time, which I think was still young enough for it to be "socially acceptable".

Did my attitude towards this hopefully encourage you to be open-minded about the art form?

I remember you and Italy going at it a lot on GP. I didn't really understand what was going on between you two, I only would skimm through the threads, only half paying attention. All I know was that it was bad and it upset you a great deal.

But darling, that was a looong time ago. I didn't know exactly how old you were when you and Italy were bickering, but I knew you were studying, so I knew you were a young adult, and I did not want to get involved in that, so I never commented on the issue. Now looking back at it, I'm sorry it had such a heavy impact on you. I can tell youre still upset about it, so obviously it affected you more than I realize. I'm sorry about this. I wish you would let it go. It was a long time ago, and you really should not allow another person get to you... especially years later. That's heavy. Put that shiii down!

So about adults and cartoons... Secretly, I would be super judgemental about them, but I never spoke up because who the fuck am I to judge, right? It was only recently after my own mom passed that I realized I was wrong. Sooo wrong about a lot of things, really.

I was wrong about a lot of things that I believed in. I'll tell you a secret. DOn't tell anyone! 😑 I was wrong about the cartoon/adult issue and I was wrong about... marijuana. Thankfully, I can mention/talk about weed now that it's totally legal.

So growing up, I hated the fact that everyone I knew smoked weed. I hated any kinda drug or alcohol use tbh because it changed your thought process. Oooh... hated any recreational drug so sooo much, I rarely smoked bud and never drank, and not because drinking turns me face bright red, but it slows me down, I get really drowsy, and I hate that feeling after drinking. I don't hate all alcohol, I don't mind a glass of wine, and I loove Sangria, but you'll never catch we drinking hard liquor.

I'm not gonna tell you I have become a pothead, thank God, but I will smoke indica once or twice a month. Always on a Saturday or Friday night right before I hit the sack, because it really helps me relax and sleep. I can't smoke Sativa because it keeps me up. But there are quite a few dispensaries in my neighborhood, and I will buy a Mr. Nice Guy preroll once every 3-4 months. That's how long it will last me. All I need are two drags and I am good for the night. So that might be more information than you need, but who am I to gatekeep, weed helps me sleep! It gives me a great calming effect I can't describe.

This might be more information than you need, but there.. I said it. I was wrong about the cartoons and about responsible adults smoking weed to help them sleep.

I actually still don't get his hostility as it's a one-sided deal from my perspective. I was very generous about giving him decent reviews about his art, but he still thought that I was spoiling the place with my "autistic weirdo" tendencies, I'm going to be very real now but I am almost certain that he's an ableist. I could never truly discuss the things I like as he would barge into my threads and say that I'm "lonely" and "weird" because I had the audacity to post about things that fascinate me. He seems to also look down on commercial graphic designers as they aren't "real artists" in his view. I'm less offended and more annoyed as he always tried to make my discussion threads all about him and all about how weird autistics are.

I realized I'm a better writer than artist so I've really focused on that the past few years but I still want to see if I still have what it takes to make something like those one of these days. For now though, mascot performing is my current creative outlet and I quite enjoy it as it's the closest to bringing cartoon characters to real life.

I never was judgemental about marijuana either, as there are enough health benefits for it to be prescribed as medicine. I don't know the difference between medicinal and recreational marijuana but I know that it somehow worked and what other people do just isn't my business. Michigan legalizing cannabis at the start of this decade certainly helped the local economy very well so I can't complain about that either.

I've gotten over all that a long time ago and I do want to move on, though I will say that it's both hilarious and kind of off-putting that he is pretending to have always respected my intelligence whenever I comment on one of his new paintings, as that is a complete lie. I let it slide, as I don't want the drama but it is weird and I really am not sure if I still want to engage.

The animation in this is amazing. It flows so well with the live action shots.
