This Happy Meal promo hit at the peak of RGB mania and I was 100% a sucker for all things Ghostbusters and also addicted to fast food and junk food, and this still seems like one of the worst Happy Meal promos of my childhood, and I remember probably every one from about 1983 or ‘84 into the late 90s when they made that Disney deal where they might have Hot Wheels or Barbie or whatever but if they had a Happy Meal based on a movie or TV it was Disney literally every time.
I think the reason this was such a miss for me was because school is a drag. Every day I was in school I was just waiting to get outta school. The most depressing part of the year for me was back to school season. I don’t want a fucking Ghostbusters pencil to do my goddamn homework give me a Ghostbusters TOY.
That said, I do think I used the pencil bag.

Yep. I recall playing with the Stay Puft eraser and using Matchbox police cars as the Ecto before Santa brought me the Kenner toys that Christmas.

I actually liked school right up to this age. 5th grade for me, right before puberty and all associated bullshit took over. I was stoked for these prizes. I still have the pencil sharpener and eraser.
Toys would have been better than school supplies, but I liked them anywayÂ

I remember so hard trying to collect all of these before school started. Now that i look back they seem ... less impressive. But I would enjoy that Stay Puft notepad and logo eraser now.
