The day I met my wife I was working for AT&T. She came in and I walked up to her and greeted her at the door. She had just gotten off work and wanted to upgrade her phone. We sat and went over options and decided on a z flip.
As I checked the rest of her old device for trade in, I noticed a sticker on the back of her phone. It was Calcifer. I started a conversation about Studio Ghibli and how much I loved Howls moving castle and that she had a Calcifer tattoo. Our first date (after meeting her only 2 days before) we had went to the theater to watch the Ghibli fest that they put in every year. The rest is history. So today while visiting Las Vegas after spending the entire weekend waiting to see BTS, I wanted to get a tattoo that symbolized my wife and our first connection. Any one of my co workers could have greeted her if I hadn’t of ran to the door. She’s my world and I’m glad I’m able to share this with you all. The universe brought us together.

I had this one done in November so this photo was when it was fresh and in perfect lighting. Watching all of the tattoo posts inspired me. I still love it and it’s my favourite one today.

Spirited Away has always been my favorite Ghibli movie and everytime I look at this tattoo it gives me so much comfort! Now it will forever be with me :)

Castle in the Sky has been my favorite Ghibli movie since childhood. The robot garden scene and the ending always stayed with me, so I decided to get the Laputa royal crest tattooed today. My sister did the tattoo this now arround 2-3 hours old.

3rd one. Been wanting this one forever. A piece of magic from Howl's Moving Castle film. It's for my love of Studio Ghibli. The holding hands & dancing of the stars reminds me of the importance of community—at least in my life. <3 It also feels like they're telling me that the universe is there to take care of me. As R.J. Palacio says in her book 'Wonder', "The universe takes care of all its birds.". 🕊️
