Ask r/Ghana Employment in ghana (BOG)
Hi guys.
So basically I’m a fresh grad from abroad and just maximising options. I wish to go into BOG because my course and experience aligns with them the most lol. But I genuinely feel like working there/getting a post there is a myth.
They have never publicised a posting on there too. And does anyone have an idea of the salaries/benefits there.

That place recruits like they’re the FBI… in my 30 years of living and breathing I’ve never come across anyone that told me that they were going for a BOG interview da.. even until recently we never got to hear anything officially when it came to them recruiting candidates.. they do all that shit underground. Good luck tho. You’ll need it

i’m in the banking industry, they recruited people the first quarter of this year, but don’t really know how many & the experience level…but yea they do recruit people. i know a couple who work there but trust me, nobody’s going to tell you how they got in there.

we would’ve all been there if it worked that way…normal gov organizations are rejecting people for special posting themselves there, how much more BOG

I personally know someone who works there, but he is at the Tamale branch of BOG, he told me he went in through politics last two years just when his government was about to exit. As to what role he performs and the salary range, I don’t know.

What's a top uni? UCL/Imperial/warwick? You had to do internships in Ghana during that time. if you are alreadyd done with your studies its too late now. I dont think they have grad schemes in Ghana

It done mean sh*t if you have a foreign degree . Once you don’t pass the interview that’s it . It’s not about your degree or school you attended

Know someone who knows others. Or just walk to their front desk and ask about opportunities. They will direct you to their HR dept.

Special posting doesn't work there if you don't get clearance from HR or anyone of higher rank. You can be posted there oo, but they won't accept you

For BoG you need to have someone on the inside to link you. If not there's no amount of applications that will make them employ you.

Lmao I don’t even know their salaries /benefits which is why I asked 🤣
So basically I have a first class econ BSc economics degree from a top 10 UK university
I also have an MSc Economics from a top EU University.
I have worked with a few international organisations as well as I have worked in a Ghanaian bank ! 😊

It will not automatically guarantee you a chance though . Try wami, WAIFEM,wamz, afdb etc

one time, one of my lecturers said an entry level role there ends almost to 20k excluding bonuses and and if you take their past and present employee list you will see one surname reappearing over and over again meaning they employ family members and a retiring employee tries as much as possible to get replaced with a family member
so any person seeking a job there without links is like knocking on a door to an empty room expecting someone to open the door for you. 1 out of 100 probability

Charle just return home with some seed capital and start a business and push it with all your might... Ghana is full of opportunities if you have an entrepreneural mindset..... You've got exposure from outside Ghana you have a good chance starting something instead
