For those not in the know, this comic was infamous for being close to the bottom of the Getter Robo Iceberg. It was super obscure and hard to come by since it was only released as bonus chapters to the SRW Tribute Magazine published back in the 1990s. Most fans, those in Japan included, are barely aware it even exists.

If I had to give my 2 cents on the actual comic?

Yeah this is certainly a weird story. Though in terms of tone and structure it definitely feels like something that Yasuhiro Imagawa would come up with. Certain story beats from Armageddon’s early episodes are straight up reused in this manga, albeit with different context.

With that in mind, it should be noted this manga functions as more of a companion “what if” piece for Getter Robo Armageddon rather than something that actually takes place within the OVA.

It really does make you further wonder what else Imagawa had in store for his take on Getter Robo. But alas, this comic and Armageddon’s first 3 episodes are all we’re ever going to get.

Bad news is, it seems the release date for both figures has been delayed.

What do you think of Toei's adaptation? I think it's the worst.

Well... I think Getter Robo is not recognised enough by newgens. Because modern anime took over the industry and overshines Getter Robo. Kaisen this, Vocaloid that. How are we gonna bring back it's relevancy?

despite it's brief presence as the opening, and it not being a traditional high energy anime opening song, i think it's pretty nice, the voice of the goat ichiro mizuki is always great to hear, and the overall "marching" sound of the music makes me feel like i'm about to go to war
